摘要： A belay device for climbing with at least one rope is provided. The belay device comprises a first plate having a first lobe with the rope wrapping at least partially about the first lobe and a second plate having a second lobe. A connection mechanism connects the first plate to the second plate through a rotation point with the rotation point positioned inside the second lobe. A first channel is defined by the first plate and the first lobe and the second plate and the second lobe with the rope moveable through the first channel wherein tension on the rope rotates the first plate and the second plate relative to each other thereby narrowing the first channel and impeding movement of the rope through the first channel.

摘要： An anchoring device for use in a rock crevice is provided. The anchoring device is movable from a non-activated position to an activated position. The anchoring device comprises a first axle member and a first cam rotatable about the first axle member with the first cam having a first side surface, a first bottom surface, and a first contact surface, the first contact surface contactable with the first rock wall. A second axle member is provided in a spaced in a parallel configuration from the first axle member with a second cam rotatable about the second axle member. The second cam has a second side surface, a second bottom surface, and a second contact surface, the second contact surface contactable with the second rock wall, wherein in a non-activated position, the first axle member is closer to the first rock wall than the second axle member, the second axle member is closer to the second rock wall than the first axle member, and the first bottom surface of the first cam is free from overlap with the second bottom surface of the second cam.

摘要： An anchoring device for use in a rock-crevice defined by a first rock wall and an opposing second rock wall. The anchoring device comprises an axle member having a longitudinal axis. A first cam is rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the axle member and contactable with the first rock wall with the first cam having a first side wall and a second side wall. A second cam is rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the axle member and contactable with the second rock wall with the second cam having a first side wall and a second side wall. The first side wall of the first cam is aligned with the first side wall of the second cam and the second side wall of the first cam is aligned with the second side wall of the second cam. Upon a first force being applied to the first cam by the first rock wall and a second force being applied to the second cam by the second rock wall in a direction generally toward the longitudinal axis, the axle member is free from any created moment.
