    • A method is devoted to the transmission, via a wave-based transmission infrastructure (RC) using an access method relying on multiplexing that is at least time division multiplexing, of content from at least one channel, each piece of content being arranged into one base data layer and at least one enhancement data layer, respectively associated with different transmission time slices, and broken down into portions transmitted during the time slices respectively associated with their layers. This method comprises i) the insertion, in a chosen location of each portion of a base data layer to be transmitted, within a chosen network layer, of at least one learning sequence processed according to a configuration scheme identical to that used to process the enhancement data layer, and ii) upon receiving a portion of a base data layer of a piece of content within a terminal (TC), extracting the learning sequence inserted into a chosen network layer, then estimating the reception quality based on that extracted learning sequence, and allowing it to use the next portion of the content's the enhancement data layer whenever the estimated quality is above a chosen threshold.

    • The present invention provides a method of transmitting multicast and broadcast content in a mobile access network, the mobile access network comprising: at least one multicast-broadcast service zone with at least one Base Station, a Multicast-Broadcast server for each one of the multicast-broadcast service zones, the mobile access network coupled to a content distribution network, the content distribution network comprising a content server coupled to an JP multicast network, the content server being adapted for multicast and broadcast transmission, the method comprising the steps of: sending a first join request using a membership protocol for a multicast group from a Multicast-Broadcast server to the content distribution network; sending a second join request using the membership protocol and sending a first multicast IP packet from the multicast/broadcast content server to the multicast-broadcast server using a first multicast routing protocol. The method further comprises: encapsulating the first multicast IP packet into a second multicast IP packet; sending the second multicast IP packet to the local multicast group of the multicast-broadcast service zone using a second multicast routing protocol.

    • A device is dedicated to synchronizing radio access logic entities each having a local clock and forming part of a wireless communication network capable of broadcasting and/or multicasting content-defining data packets between a broadcast and/or multicast source and mobile communication terminals, via logic entities. This device includes a calculation unit tasked with i) estimating, for each logic entity of a synchronization area of the network, the time, with respect to a reference clock when said entity received a selected packet from the broadcast and/or multicast source, then ii) determining, for each logic entity, a value that represents the time difference between its reception time and the latest reception time among those of the logic entities, and iii) ordering each logic entity to wait for a period of time equal to the value which was determined for it before retransmitting each packet received from the broadcast and/or multicast source to the terminals located within its synchronization area.
