摘要： Polymeric substrates, for example polyolefins such as polypropylene, can be made flame retardant by the incorporation therein of a synergistic mixture of (i.) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of nitroxyl stabilizers, hydroxylamine stabilizers, nitrone stabilizers, substituted hydroxylamine stabilizers, amine oxide stabilizers, benzofuranone stabilizers, phosphite and phosphonite stabilizers, quinone methide stabilizers and monoacrylate esters of 2,2′-alkylidenebisphenol stabilizers and (ii.) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of brominated flame retardants, phosphorus containing flame retardants and inorganic flame retardants such as ammonium polyphosphate or decabromodiphenyl oxide; wherein the amount of organic or inorganic flame retardant of component (ii.) required to achieve an acceptable level of flame retardancy is significantly reduced compared to that needed when component (i.) is not present.

The coated articles are for example iron, steel, stainless steel, aluminum and other non-ferrous metals, wood, plywood, paper, cardboard, chip board, particle board, plastics, thermoplastics, epoxies, neoprene, rubber, composites, fiberglass reinforced composites, polyesters, polymeric foam, masonry, fabric or textiles, wire and cable constructions and circuit boards.

摘要： A mixture of a polyester, such as poly(ethylene terephthalate) PET, or a polyamide, and a suitable stabilizer selected from the group consisting of hydroxylamine stabilizers, substituted hydroxylamine stabilizers, nitrone stabilizers and amine oxide stabilizers, when extrusion compounded exhibits a lower residual acetaldehyde content than does polyester or polyamide alone when similarly treated. The invention pertains to any polyester or polyamide used in the manufacture of molded articles, fibers or films, for instance bottles or containers which are used to store consumer materials, for example food, beverages and water.

摘要： Organic polymeric substrates, for example polyolefins such as polypropylene, can be made flame retardant by the incorporation of a synergistic mixture of (i) at least one low molecular weight sterically hindered alkoxyamine stabilizer, (ii) at least one high molecular weight sterically hindered alkoxyamine stabilizer and (iii) at least one conventional flame retardant selected from the group consisting of the organohalogen, phosphorus containing and melamine based flame retardants. The compositions of the invention combine good flame retardant properties with light stability and good mechanical properties. Polyolefin molded articles are stabilized against light, heat and oxygen and made flame retardant with the incorporation of at least one sterically hindered alkoxyamine and at least one conventional flame retardant, while allowing normally high levels of flame-retardant fillers to be greatly reduced or eliminated.

Also disclosed is a stabilized composition comprising polyolefin and a present liquid cyclic phosphite and a process for the stabilization of polyolefin by incorporating therein or applying thereto a present liquid cyclic phosphite. The present liquid phosphite stabilizers are especially compatible with polyolefins.

摘要： The present invention discloses a process for stabilizing polyolefin compositions against the deleterious effects of melt processing, heat aging and exposure to combustion products of natural gas, which process comprises incorporating or applying to a polyolefin an effective stabilizing amount of a tris-(mono-alkyl)phenyl phosphite ester of the formula I, or a mixture of phosphite esters of formula I, where each R is the same or different and is straight or branched chain alkyl of from 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and where said phosphite ester or phosphite ester mixture is in the liquid state at 25° C. and 1 atm of pressure. Also disclosed is a stabilized composition comprising polyolefin and a present phosphite ester or phosphite ester mixture as well as certain mixtures of tris-(mono-alkyl)phenyl phosphite. The present liquid phosphite ester stabilizers are especially compatible with low density polyethylene.
