    • A cutter cassette includes a cutter case for holding a cutting blade slidably in a case holder. The cutter cassette further includes a holding mechanism for holding the cutter case in a completely inserted state and an extending mechanism for protruding the cutter case from the case holder. The cutting blade is held in the holding mechanism when not used, and is promptly ejected by the extending mechanism when used. A cutting device mounted on a rail and a portable hand-operated cutter are also provided. Preferably, the cutting device includes a driving mechanism for shifting the cutting blade in the cutter cassette into an operative state in synchronization with the operation of pushing the cutter cassette.

    • A paper abutted ruler is provided which can easily be moved on the surface of a surface plate and can simply and accurately be positioned in place. The paper abutted ruler is constructed such that magnet bases rotatably supported at their one ends to a bottom portion of a ruler body and having magnets affixed to lower surfaces of the magnet bases are disposed in the ruler body at opposite-side positions spaced in the ruler longitudinal direction, and the magnet bases are rotated in a direction to tilt upward in interlock with depression of an attraction release button disposed nearly at the center of the ruler body. By depressing the attraction release button to rotate the magnet bases in the direction to tilt upward, the magnet bases are held in a state forming a predetermined angle relative to the surface of the surface plate.

    • A simplified and easy-to-use binding device is provided. A plurality of sheets are bound together by inserting a spiral coil through a series of holes punched in each of the sheets at certain intervals. In a first embodiment, a spiral coil having the same pitch as the interval between the holes is used. In a second embodiment, a densely spiraled coil is used. A coil leading guide is prepared for inserting the densely spiraled coil through the holes in the sheets. The coil leading guide has the same pitch as the interval between the holes, and is coupled to the densely spiraled coil through an engaging portion formed in an end portion of the coil leading guide. The coil leading guide is spirally inserted through the holes such that the densely spiraled coil follows the coil leading guide, whereby the plurality of sheets are bound together. There are further employed a base for retaining the sheets from the backside so as to hold the sheets even at edges, and a coil turning aid for pressing the spiral coil from above and turning it.

    • An alignment marker includes first marker element pieces for a first viewpoint and second marker element pieces for a second viewpoint different in plan shape. The first and second marker element pieces are respectively formed by dividing marker elements in such a way as to be equal in width to a predetermined marker element pitch. These pieces are arranged at the marker element pitch along an optical image separation direction of the optical image separation element. A predetermined number of the adjoining first and second pieces constitute one repetition cycle. A width of the repetition cycle is in accordance with an arrangement pitch of constituent elements of the optical image separation element. An existing optical image separation element can be used without the formation of the markers thereon and the alignment operation can be performed with a usual aligning and bonding apparatus.
