摘要： An image forming apparatus is provided with a fixing section, including a heating member, a pressing member, in which the heating member and the pressing member are arranged to form a nipping section therebetween, and a belt member inserted through the nipping section for fixing a toner image on a recordig sheet by conveying the recording sheet through the nipping section; and a control section for controlling the fixing section and obtaining recording sheet information with respect to at least one of a plurality of conditions. The pressig member includes a plurality of pressing heads differing in shape and with respect to at least one of a plurality of characteristics, and the control section selects one of the plurality of pressing heads in accordance with the recording sheet information and controls the fixing section to press the recording sheet through the belt member with the selected one of the plurality of pressing heads.

摘要： An image forming apparatus comprises a belt fixing unit and a controller. The belt fixing unit includes a moving fixing belt heated by a heater, a pressure member provided inside the fixing belt, a pressure roller provided opposite to the pressure member through the fixing belt to form a nip portion, a transfer material having a toner image thereon passing the nip portion and thereby the toner image being fixed on the transfer material, and a pressing force change unit capable of changing a pressing force of the pressure member against the pressure roller. The controller controls the pressing force change unit to change the pressing force according to print information for both faces of the transfer material.

摘要： A fixing apparatus using a thin-sleeve roller is provided which gives a good fixing result while suppressing electric power consumption. The fixing apparatus includes a hollow cylindrical heating roller, a heat source positioned inside the heating roller, a pressing roller that is in pressure contact with the heating roller to form a nip between the heating roller and the pressing roller, and a controller that controls a conveyance velocity of the transfer material. The heating roller is divided into a first regions and a second region, with the first region being outside the second region. And the heat source includes a first heating section that mainly heats the first region, and a second heating section that mainly heats the second region. A heat distribution ratio of the first heating section is set so that a heat quantity at the second region is in a range of 15%-70% of a heat quantity at the first region, and/or a heat distribution ratio of the second heating section is set so that the heat quantity at the first region is lower than 60% of the heat quantity at the second region.
