The method includes: assigning a unique identifier to a user of the computing resource; determining a value for a challenge to the user, where the value is determined by a random determination method; concatenating the identifier with the value to form an input string; encrypting the input string using a one-way hash function to yield an output string of characters; and selecting a subset of characters from the output string to serve as the authentication factor for the user. This improved method may be used to generate grids used in a grid authentication scheme.

摘要： A device and method that uses the application of light to retard the wilting and spoilage of cut flowers. The lamps used can direct focused illumination in the targeted wavelengths known to positively and optimally affect the viability of different types of cut flowers, hi the most preferred embodiment, an LED light source is positioned to direct light upwardly toward the flowers, either from a base structure upon which a vase holding the flowers and having a transparent bottom surface is placed, or from a position within an opaque vase holding flowers that is substantially below the flower stems. Optionally, light can be directed from the side or overhead, but such a configuration is not optimal. Side-by-side testing confirms that flowers exposed to the light lasted more than a week longer than those not having the added illumination.

摘要： A wastebasket includes a container having an upper rim defining an open end, and a lid mounted on the container at its upper rim. The lid is positionable to cover and uncover the open end. The lid is pivotable between a closed position, where it covers the open end of the container, and an open position, where it is disposed in a substantially upright position uncovering the open end of the container. The lid and container include portions which are used for latching the lid in the upright, open position so that the lid will not fall inadvertently. The container latching portion includes a rib having an exposed corner and a recess. The lid latching portion is resiliently yieldable and includes a protrusion which is adapted to ride over the corner and snap into recess of the container rib when the lid is in the open position.
