摘要： An elevator system has on each floor hall call buttons that are inter-connected with piconet modules (15), such as modules conforming to BLUETOOTH™ specifications; similar piconet modules (16) may be associated with hall fixtures such as lanterns and gongs; similar piconet modules (50) may be associated with hoistway doors, on each floor, so as to form a wireless communication system with a similar piconet module (19) at the controller (18); and a piconet module (40) may be associated with the car operating panel. A module (43) may be interconnected with the car door lock switch; a module (44) may be interconnected with a safety switch; modules (48) and (49) may be interconnected with lower and upper limit switches; and a module (49) may be interconnected with an overspeed detector, so as to form a safety chain. A prospective passenger (53) may carry a portable device with a piconet module (54) to request elevator service and receive acknowledgment, and maintenance personnel (58) may use a personal ditigal assistant having a piconet module (58) therein to acquire current and historical information about the elevator and to issue executable commands to the elevator system.

摘要： A system and method for monitoring a location having at least one sensor for sensing a change in at least one condition using voice tags to announce alarms. The system includes a registration process where a voice recorder and a digital conversion unit form digital voice tags from recorded speech representing the type and location of sensors. The voice tag is sent as part of an alarm message or pre-stored in a control panel for later retrieval such that the type and location of an alarm is reproduced vocally at the time of the alarm. The registration process may be completed with a registration module which may be a keypad or the voice recorder may be included in the sensors. Additional features include sensor location change notification to ensure the stored voice tag represents the current location of the sensor.

摘要： A video content analysis (VCA) system generates an output regarding a detected condition that provides an indication of a confidence level regarding the detected condition. One example VCA system determines whether a first characteristic of a detected object in a field of vision of the video content analysis system satisfies a first criterion. If so, a first signal is generated under selected conditions. The VCA system also determines whether a second characteristic of the detected object satisfies a corresponding second criterion. If so, a second, different signal is generated if the first and second criteria are satisfied. The first and second signals indicate respective, different confidence levels that an event has occurred. A disclosed example includes a VCA as part of a security system.
