摘要： An automatic badge making machine comprises a die assembly including a first and second die set relatively movable to form a badge or button from a plurality of badge parts initially placed in one of the die sets. A motor powered drive is provided for relatively moving one of the die sets in an operating cycle comprising a plurality of successive strokes toward and away from the second die set to shape and form a badge between the facing surfaces. A protective safety shield is provided for movement between an open position exposing a work area to permit access to the die sets for loading/unloading badge parts/badges and a closed position enclosing the work area during a badge making operating cycle. The shield comprises a component of a safety system provided for preventing operation of the motor whenever the protective safety shield is out of the closed position. The badge maker also includes a circuit for automatically returning the die sets to an open position whenever excessive forces between die sets are encountered during a badge making operating cycle.

The exercise device includes a main body portion having apertures for receiving the user's feet or other body part, a connector portion that slides underneath a stationary object such as a door, and a shoulder portion that abuts one side of the door during use. The shoulder portion opposes the forces imposed by the user during exercising to maintain the user's feet in the desired position. The main body portion of the exerciser may be positioned by the user to any desired height. A fastener retains the exerciser in its rolled-up condition for easy transportation and storage.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a deodorant container in which an air-treating material is positioned. The air-treating material can be either a volatile material or a material which absorbs odors. The container includes a top member movable mounted within a base member. The top member and the base member are identical in shape and may be formed from a common mold. The air-treating material is in the form of a disk which is disposed between the top member and the base member. The top member and the base member include outwardly projecting engaging legs including detents disposed on the outer surface thereof. These legs are spaced to provide air passages therebetween. The detents mate with corresponding engaging slots disposed in the side wall construction of the corresponding top or base member. In a closed position wherein the top and base members are fully nested within each other, the detents engage a cam slot which locks the top member relative to the base member to seal the container. To open the container, the top member is slightly rotated relative to the base member only to unlock the two members. Thereafter, the top member is reciprocated relative to the base member to open the container and thereby expose the air-treating material through the air passages between the engaging legs. The engaging legs of the top member include inwardly projecting disk centering tabs which raise the air-treating disk upwardly, as the container is opened, to center the disk with respect to the air passages formed between the top member and the base member.

摘要： A stairway wheelchair lift includes a stationary motor drive unit, a rail assembly extending along the stairway and a mobile platform movable along the rail. A flexible drive member, such as a chain or cable, within the rail assembly, is driven by the motor drive unit and is connected to the mobile platform to move the platform in either direction along the rail. The mobile platform is adapted to support and transport a wheelchair-bound passenger during use, and to fold upwardly out of the way of the stairway when the lift is not in use. An automatically actuated brake mechanism stops further movement of the mobile platform when the speed of the platform relative to the rail exceeds a predetermined threshold, and a plurality of safety sensing switches prevent operation of the lift in the presence of obstructions along the stairway or other unsafe conditions.

摘要： A metering mechanism for a paper towel dispenser cabinet is disclosed. The metering mechanism includes a metering gear which is rotatably driven by an operating mechanism of the dispenser cabinet. The metering gear has an axially extending cam portion which defines a radial cam surface extending continuously around the axis of the metering gear from a larger radius to a smaller radius and an abutment wall adjacent to the larger radius end of the cam portion. The metering gear also has an integral resilient finger adjacent to the abutment wall which is biased out of the plane of the metering gear. A release means is urged toward the axis of the metering gear and engages the abutment wall in a stopped position to inhibit rotation of the metering gear and thereby inhibit operation of the dispenser. The metering gear is released for rotation by moving the release means past the abutment wall until the spring finger snaps out of the plane of the metering gear to hold the release means clear of the abutment wall in a dispensing position ready to follow the cam surface. As the metering gear is rotated, the release means follows the cam surface from the larger radius to the smaller radius and eventually returns to the stopped position to once again stop the operation of the dispenser.
