    • The present invention provides a method for transmitting voice packet data over a selected one of a first network in which multiple devices belonging to a defined set communicate with each other according to a first protocol and a second network in which multiple devices communicate with each other according to a second protocol, different from the first protocol. The method includes establishing at least one radio bearer between at least two devices in the first network according to the first protocol, receiving at least one voice packet that conforms to the second protocol, modifying the at least one voice packet to conform to the first and the second protocols, and transmitting the at least one modified voice packet using the at least one radio bearer.

    • Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a Master/Salve or Host/Device system in which there is only one host and one or more devices connected by cables to the host. To connect a USB device to a different host controller (say another PC), the user unplugs the USB cable and establishes the connection physically by plugging the cable into the new host controller interface. Certified Wireless USB (CWUSB), a logical extension to the USB, preserves the USB connection model, except that the link between the host and the device is now using a wireless technology. A wireless device is usually connected to only one wireless host at a given point of time, even though several wireless hosts may be co-located in the same physical neighborhood. The connection between the wireless host and device is initiated by the device. A device usually selects a wireless host from a stored set of known hosts that have established a trusted relationship with the device. If more than one wireless host is operating in the same neighborhood, there is no well known established procedure for the device to select a particular wireless host to establish a connection.

    • Multiple out-of-plane planar reflectors can be used to build a receive/transmit high-gain directional antenna. The driver portion and the first reflector of the antenna are formed within a metal layer of a PWB. A plurality of sets of reflector plates can be placed on the PWB, on a non-conductive low-dielectric constant material coating both opposing planar surfaces of the PWB, or on the opposing sidewalls of the product housing unit. The metal layer in the PWB is placed between the reflector plates. The plates can have either a parallel or non-parallel orientation to each another. This greatly increase the received power and thus increases the operating range of a low-power UWB system, as well as significantly improves wireless data transmission throughput. This antenna is applicable for USB communications systems.
