    • A moving system (1/101) made up of a number of separable but intergratable parts and platform sections (10-90/110-190), including an elastically biased, pivoted, integral end ramp section (10) which can be pivoted and moved down to allow the load (e.g. a copier with "convenience casters") to be rolled up onto platform sections (40 & 50/140 & 150) for movement from one location to another. The moving system also includes the following additional parts or sections--in one embodiment or the other a supplemental ramp piece (120) which is usually stored on the exterior side of the ramp end section (110) when not in use but is connectable to the end of the main ramp section to extend the effective ramping distance; a protective pad (30/130) for the ramp end section; a first platform section (40/140); a second platform section (50/150), as well as an auxiliary, pivoting, intermediate braking support member (160); a handle end section (70/170); an extendible handle (80/180); and an interconnecting, ninety (90.degree.) degree, leg section (90/190). The platform sections include four supporting caster wheels (20/142& 152), the two at the handle end being lockable into a straight disposition or alternatively unlocked to allow them to be free-wheeling. Foot operated mechanisms (21, 55, 59 & 62) are provided for quickly and easily latching and unlatching different parts. A pair of elastic "bungee" cord sections or springs (17) bias the end ramp section in both its vertical disposition and its ramping disposition by having its effective ends off-set with respect to the pivoting hinge for the ramp. The ramp section also includes an effective braking/immobilizing support (15/115).

    • A heavy duty moving system including a base sled having two sets of integral, drop-leaf, heavy duty caster wheels (FIG. 1) and a lever arm assembly (FIG. 6) for moving heavy equipment, for example, the "XEROX" copy machines of the 2400 series. The sled is slid under the machine (FIG. 8) and then raised at one end by the lever arm assembly (FIG. 9), after which one set of integral, drop-leaf caster wheels are lowered into position and locked. The opposite end of the sled is jacked up and the second set of integral, drop-leaf caster wheels are lowered and locked into position after which the lever arm assembly is removed. The machine then rests on the sled and its caster wheels and is ready for transportation. The machine is taken off the moving system in the opposite manner.

    • A tensioning pin system (10) is provided for use in shutter-louver assemblies (12). The major component of the system (10) is a tensioning pin (50) in two mating parts; a pin member (52) and a ferrule member (54) which fit together and rotate with respect to one another. The pin member (52) is lodged within a louver slat (16) while the ferrule member (54) is firmly embedded into the shutter frame (14). The tensioning pin (50) maintains rotational tension for placement of the louver slat (16) and lateral separation between the louver slat (16) and the frame (14). A preferred interface between the pin member (52) and the ferrule member (54) includes an annular protrusion (80) mating with a catch channel (74) while alternate tension interfaces incorporate varying gradients on one of the members with a bead ring on the other member.

    • A method and apparatus of parsing a message including a string of characters comprises defining at least one character as a delimiter and setting a starting indicator and a closing indicator. A portion of the string between the starting and closing indicators is collected by a parser method, the portion including at least one delimiter character. The delimiter character is ignored by the parser method so that the portion (the token) of the string may be extracted in its entirety. Additional starting and closing indicators may be nested, with the parser method recursively calling itself with each encounter of a new nested starting indicator.
