    • The invention relates to a container which is folded from a flat blank of material being provided with a plurality of fold lines. The side walls are coupled to one another by bellows-type coupling members which are adapted to be inwardly folded during assembly to draw up the adjacent side walls to which they are attached. The top walls are dimensioned such that upon folding into substantially parallel relationship with the bottom wall it will form a closed container which is especially suitable to be used as a gift box. A portion of the bellows-type coupling member may be non-structurally adhered to a side wall of the container acting to greatly enhance subsequent folding and assembling of the container into its finished form. Predetermined fold lines may be pre-folded to allow more convenient assembly and still allow shipping in the flat form if desired. The top walls of the container may be constructed to allow a plurality of blanks to be interlocked with one another to allow very tight packing of a large number of blanks on a given sheet of material. The container may have graphics on one or both sides. The container may also be formed with punch-outs to provide an interactive container being usable as a container and subsequently forming a toy, game or having other distinct and appealing characteristics.

The blank of material may be advantageously printed on one or both sides thereof using conventional printing techniques to achieve enhanced graphics, and the container may also be formed with punch-outs to provide an interactive container being usable as a container and subsequently forming a toy, game or having other distinct and appealing characteristics.

    • A container assembly which is especially adaptable to form a final presentation enclosure is constructed from a flat blank of material. The flat blank is provided with a plurality of fold lines forming a bottom wall, side walls, and top wall portions which act in conjunction with one another to enclose a space. The side walls are connected by joining portions constituting bellows-type folding members. The container is constructed in accordance with the normal hand movements of a person assembling it, wherein the joining members are initially easily folded inwardly thereby drawing up the respective side walls to which they are attached. The natural grasping movement of the hands is then used to complete assembly. The container does not utilize tabs, glue or other fastening means normally associated with a variety of containers. The top walls are formed so as to be exposed at the top of the container to allow securing of the top wall portions by any suitable means. There is also provided a variable volume container by means of the joining members which extend into the interior of the container. The joining members act to center and protect a smaller item within the container or can be completely moved to make available the total volume of the container.
