This result is accomplished by administering to the animal subject a therapeutically effective amount of a compound having the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen or methyl, R' is hydrogen, lower alkyl or thioalkyl, carboxy methyl, or phenyl; R" is lower alkyl, 2-benzofuranyl, naphthyl, phenyl, or mono- or disubstituted phenyl. The hydrated precursors of certain of these compounds as well as the acid addition and quaternary salts of both the compounds and their hydrated precursors may be employed.

摘要： A new and improved book-style cassette holder is provided including a spine portion provided with stay-flat supporting features. The cassette holder includes a cover with front and rear flaps connected by a flexible spine portion. Complementary interfitting trays are provided on the inner faces of the flaps which may be stacked together in a closed position to define a cassette-receiving cavity. The spine portion is provided with a spine liner portion including number of raised protrusions which abut the tray portions in a closed position to maintain the spine portion in a taut condition. A series of spaced strut supports are defined between the protrusions which are effective to maintain the spine portion of the holder in an attractive, readable stay-flat condition in use.

摘要： A flue gas desulfurization process and system employing a clear scrubbing liquor and an organic acid buffer conducted under forced oxidation conditions to produce a usable gypsum by-product without scrubber scaling and abrasion is provided. Calcium ion concentration and chloride concentration are suppressed to improve limestone utilization, reduce the consumption of organic acids and improve crystal growth. The FGD system includes a limestone reactor for precipitating gypsum separate from the scrubber system which allows the recovery of pure carbon dioxide and a clarifier/softener tank which allows the production of gypsum-free clear scrubbing liquor and a drier gypsum filter cake.

摘要： A method is provided for removing contaminants, such as sulfur trioxide, sulfur dioxide and hydrogen halides, out of a gas, such as an exhaust gas from a coal or oil fired burner, by injecting a bisulfite containing solution into the gas so that the bisulfite reacts with the sulfur trioxide and/or hydrogen halides in the gas to produce salts and sulfur dioxide, or by injecting a sulfite containing solution into the gas so that the sulfite reacts the sulfur dioxide in the gas to produce bisulfite and this bisulfite reacts with the sulfur trioxide and/or hydrogen halides to result in the formation of salts and sulfur dioxide. The sulfur dioxide in the gas can be washed out of the gas in a downstream wet scrubber. By removing the sulfur trioxide and/or hydrogen halides out of the gas, corrosion of the gas scrubbing apparatus can be reduced.
