摘要： A replaceable sealing element for sealing together two mating electrical connectors includes a sealing body having two opposed ends, a side wall extending between the two opposed ends, a threaded portion that is defined on the side wall for releasably mating with a first electrical connector of the mating electrical connectors, and either a slot or a protrusion at one of the opposed ends of the sealing body that is configured to be accessed by a tool for replacing the sealing element. A first seal is positioned on the side wall for sealing contact with the first electrical connector. A second seal is positioned on the side wall for sealing contact with a second electrical connector of the mating electrical connectors. Also described is an electrical connector having a replaceable sealing element.

摘要： A kit for splicing two electrical cable assemblies together includes an electrical connector and a plurality of pin contacts, each of which are configured to be connected to a wire of a cable assembly and inserted into the connector. The electrical connector includes a plurality of socket contacts that are each configured to be non-releasably connected to one of the plurality of pin contacts. Each socket contact of the electrical connector includes a bore for receiving a respective pin contact. The bore is configured to permit translation of a respective pin contact after the respective pin contact is non-releasably connected to its respective socket contact so as to accommodate a variable length of the cable assembly wire to which the respective pin contact is attached while maintaining electrical continuity between the respective pin contact of the cable assembly and the respective socket contact of the electrical connector.

摘要： A modular data entry terminal includes a base unit and a plurality of I/O units, (such as a keyboard unit, a printer unit and display unit) which can be assembled to provide an integrated configuration or separated to provide a distributed configuration. The base unit has at least one recessed nesting area with at least one raised island thereon. Each I/O unit is provided with complementary locating devices which mate with the raised island when said unit is seated in the nesting area. The units are held in a positive manner that precludes movements resulting from vibrations (external or internal in the case of printers, etc.) or from bumps associated with normal operation of the units.Another nesting area is provided for anchoring pedestal-like devices. The terminal is readily converted from an integrated configuration to a distributed configuration by simply removing the I/O units from the base unit and locating them on suitable support surfaces relative to the base unit.

摘要： A modular terminal comprising a frame, a data distribution chamber, a power distribution apparatus and plural functional units. The functional units are supported and oriented by the frame in such a way that each interconnects with the power distribution components. Functional units communicate via optical transmissions through the data distribution chamber.
