    • A spreading implement includes at least one rotary spreading member beneath a hopper on a transportable frame with drive means connected to the rotary member. A guide is positioned adjacent the spreading member to arrest the kinetic energy imparted to material ejected and to allow the material to fall by gravity to the ground. The guide can be a screen with a configuration that varies the distance between the screen''s surface and the spreading member. Thus, the distance between a segment of the screen and the spreading member can progressively decrease about the axis of rotation in the direction of rotation. The outlet in the bottom of the hopper can be positioned to feed material to the spreading member so that regulated amounts strike the screen. Such a screen can have foldable sections that are positionally adjustable to permit spreading spectrum changes. One or more spreading members with outlet regulators can be pivoted on beams relative to a frame mount so that insecticides, herbicides and the like can be directed in carefully controlled amounts along rows of trees or other crops.

    • An agricultural implement for attachment to a prime mover has soil working members, such as tines, for cultivating purposes and a soil compressing member rotatably mounted on adjustable arms to trail the soil working members. The soil compressing member is an elongated structure with spaced apart, plate-shaped, supports that have holders arranged around each of their peripheries. Elongated soil contacting flexible elements are connectable to any of the holders on the supports so that the elements can be helically or otherwise disposed on the supports for the working width of the implement. Varying the position of the arms results in changing the position of the soil working members relative to the soil compressing member and the working depth of the former.

    • A cultivator implement has an upper supporting frame of interconnected, spaced-apart beams that extend across the width of the implement. Two groups of soil working members are independently supported from said frame with respective linkages that connect a frame portion of each group to said beams and each frame portion supports driving means that rotates the shafts of depending soil working members. The frame portions are interconnected by stabilizing rods or cranks that permit relative vertical movements. A soil contacting roller is adjustably connected at the rear of the frame portions to regulate the working depths of the working members, and a chain interconnects the beams with the rears of the frame portions to limit the downward movement of same when the implement is transported. A coupling member at the center of the implement connects to the rear of a prime mover. Transport position of the implement can be effected by securing a wheeled support to brackets at one end of the supporting frame. The opposite end of the frame has sleeve connections to receive a draw bar that can be rested on the ground.

    • A spreading implement including a hopper or container which can be divided into two portions, dimensioned to fit one inside the other for disassembly and convenient storage. The container can be made of collapsible material to occupy only a small space. One or more spreader discs is supported by the container so that a flexible transmission from a power takeoff shaft can be connected to rotate each disc in either direction. Adjusting connections are provided to properly couple the power takeoff to the disc or discs at chosen levels above the ground. A closing regulator is associated with each disc and also can be supported by the container to enable an operator to select both the direction and volume of material being spread. Also, a friction drive instead of a rope or chain transmission can be used to rotate the disc or discs.
