    • A method for displaying an access path between a virtual volume of a storage controller that has an external storage connecting function, and an external volume of an external storage system. By this method, port connection information about an access path defined between the virtual volume and the external volume is collected. A first network address for identifying an access port of the storage controller on the access path is collected. Also, a second network address for identifying an access port of the external storage system on the access path is collected. Moreover, identification information for identifying the external volume is collected. Finally, the network topology between the virtual volume and the external volume is displayed based on the port connection information, the first network address, the second network address, and the identification information.

    • An information processing system includes three storage apparatuses installed on three sites for the purpose of disaster recovery. The three storage apparatuses can be accessed by three information processing apparatuses, respectively, that are configured in a cluster. One of the storage apparatuses is set as a replication source and the other two storage apparatuses are set as replication destinations. The two storage apparatuses that are set as replication destinations manage a copy of data stored in the storage apparatus that is set as the replication source. In association with an execution of a failover on the information processing apparatus side, settings of the storage apparatuses as the replication source and replication destinations are automatically changed such that the storage apparatus that is set as the replication source function as a replication destination, and one of the storage apparatuses that are set as the replication destinations function as a replication source.

    • A technique that can efficiently achieve migration of a configuration and data between storage units with varying constructions of configuration information and that can alleviate burdens of personal operation by an administrator, etc. With the configuration information of each storage unit controlled by the storage control server, based on each piece of configuration information, the transfer-source configu-ration information is converted into information necessary for establishing the logical partition configuration of a storage unit which has the transfer-destination logical partition function. The information prepared by the conversion is transmitted to the transfer-destination storage unit and the configuration with the transfer-source logical configuration set as the transfer-destination logical partition is updated in the transfer-destination storage unit. After the migration of the configuration, the data is migrated using a remote copy function of carrying out data copy between the transfer-source and transfer-destination logical devices.

    • There is provided a technique in which such a configuration as to include storage apparatuses on a plurality of sites can reduce a burden of operation/management of backup of data stored in the storage apparatuses. The configuration includes a information processing system on each site to be a backup target, and an information processing system for executing a backup process. Through control of a management server and a process for a backup server at a backup execution point, backup data of the data stored in the storage apparatus of the information processing system is converged into the storage apparatuses of the information processing systems by a process using a remote copying function and stored in the backup device. Then, instructions are given from the management server to the respective sites with synchronized timing, and convergence and storage of said backup data are executed by obtaining a temporal synchronization.
