    • In a system with a terminal sending a request, when a load distributing unit distributes the request to many service providing apparatuses, the load distributing unit becomes a bottleneck of performance and/or a single point of failure. When the load is distributed to the service providing apparatuses without using the load distributing unit, a particular function is required on the terminal side to appropriately select one of apparatuses. A name resolution unit including an address group management table with IP addresses to select, for a request from a terminal, an address from the table to return the address to the terminal and a plurality of service providing apparatuses to which at least zero IP address selected from the table is allocated without duplication are arranged such that each service providing apparatus is allocated with IP addresses according to processing performance thereof, thereby conducting appropriate load distribution.

    • The purpose of the invention is to provide a distributed cache system applicable to a large-scale network having multiple cache servers. In a distributed cache system including multiple cache control servers, the content information is divided and managed by each cache control server. When content requested from a client is stored in the distributed cache system, a cache cooperation router forwards the content request to the cache control server which manages the information of the requested content. A cache control server has a function to notify its own address to the distributed cache system when the cache control server is added to the distributed cache system. When a cache control server receives the notification, it sends content information to the new cache control server and synchronizes the content information. Thus, a cache control server can be added to the system with ease.

    • A gateway system for distributing requests from multiple terminals to multiple first servers includes a second server device and a name resolution device wherein: an address generating function for generating an IP address from a character string is distributed to the name resolution device, and multiple specified IP addresses are registered in the second server devices; when the name resolution device receives a first request for resolving a name, the name resolution device extracts the access destination URL from the first request, generates an IP address from the character string of the host name of the extracted URL by utilizing the address generating function, and sends the generated IP address to the terminal; and when the terminal sends a second request setting the access destination of the URL for the first server device, to the second server device where the IP address is registered, the second server device transfers that transmitted second request to the first server device based on the URL of the access destination.

    • To analyze traffic at an application level, a stream according to TCP or SCTP is required to be reconstructed and to be analyzed. When a packet is transferred to analyzing equipment using a port mirroring function with which a router and a switch are provided, transferred traffic volume increases and exceeds the throughput of the analyzing equipment. As only a part of packets configuring a stream is transferred to the analyzing equipment in transfer to the analyzing equipment using a packet sampling function, analysis at the application level is impossible. To solve the problem, when a packet communication unit recognizes a stream start packet, samples a stream initiated by the packet on a condition and at a rate respectively determined beforehand and generates a condition for copying the packet based upon information of both ends of the stream included in the packet, packets sampled in units of stream can be transferred to the analyzing equipment.

    • A large-scale content delivery system may be achieved, which may send a large amount of contents without intensive management of the contents in the server. In a service providing system where a client, a service gateway, and a server are connected to each other through a network, the client sends a first message to the server by way of the service gateway. The service gateway inquires a processing method of the first message from the client of the server by using a second message that includes a part of the first message content. The server replies to the inquiry of the processing method from the service gateway with a program that describes the processing method, and the service gateway processes the first message from the client on the basis of the received processing method.
