摘要： An image editing apparatus allowing easy edition of page arrangement order on the preview display of page images includes a display device having a display screen and a preview display device configured to display image data in a scrollable manner. If any page is selected from the images of preview display, the selected page is displayed as a reduced image at a position different from the preview images. By drag-and-dropping the reduced image to an arrangement of preview images, the selected page moves to the drag-and-dropped position in the image data.

The touch-panel display displays a preview image in a designated orientation for a document of a prescribed size, and displays a preview image in accordance with size and orientation of recording paper fed from the paper feed unit, for a document not of the prescribed size. Thus, for documents of a prescribed size, preview images in a prescribed orientation can be displayed regardless of the direction of arrangement of the recording paper, and easier confirmation of expected finish of the formed image becomes possible.

Storage means comprises a first storage section, a second storage section, and a memory controller serving as data distributing means. The first storage section temporarily stores data outputted (processed for output) from each section (a scanner section, a FAX section, a network processing section, etc.) of data processing means. The second storage section comprises storage regions partitioned in correspondence to the data properties, and stores data satisfying a predetermined condition among the data outputted (processed for output). The memory controller distributes the data to either the first storage section or the second storage section depending on the data property.

摘要： Provided is an image forming apparatus that enables to confirm a finish state in a preview reliably so that unnecessary image formation processing due to setting errors by a user is able to be prevented and that processing load for performing a preview display at high speed is reduced. On a preview screen before performing image formation, a preview image showing the entire page of image data is displayed. When a information about finishing such as forming a punch hole, staple, and a paper fold are set to recording paper on which the image data is printed, these as information about finishing are displayed out of a recording paper area of the preview image. In addition, for example, an arrow indicating a position of the actual punch hole to the recording paper is also displayed as a part of the information about finishing together with the punch hole.
