    • A connector fitting construction in which a half-fitted condition is positively prevented when fitting a pair of male and female connectors together, and the fitting operation and a fitting release operation can be effected easily, and a connector housing can be formed into a small size. In this connector fitting construction, the male connector includes a connector housing, and an exclusive-use housing forming a slider receiving portion for receiving a slider therein. Guide grooves for respectively guiding opposite side portions of a body of the slider are formed respectively in opposite side portions of the exclusive-use housing. A lock arm, provided at a central portion of the exclusive-use housing, includes a lock beak having a slanting surface, and a housing lock formed on a lower surface thereof at a front end thereof, and side spaces are provided respectively on opposite sides of the lock arm. The slider has a slider arm provided in the slider body, the slider arm having a pair of abutment projections. The female connector includes a pair of stopper projections, which are formed on a housing, and abut respectively against the abutment projections when the two connectors are fitted together, a slanting projection having a slanting surface, and an engagement groove.

    • A connector in which the connecting terminal is prevented from shifting or playing, and the male and female terminals are positively engaged with each other. The connector comprises a plurality of elongated protrusions 20 formed on the walls of a terminal accommodating chamber 12 in such a manner that they extend in the direction of insertion of a female terminal 13. The female terminal includes a wire clamping section 18 comprising a conductor clamping portion 28 and a cover clamping portion 29. A locking protrusion 21 formed on the bottom of the cover clamping portion 29 is engaged with a locking groove 22 formed in the connector housing 11. Furthermore, the height of the cover clamping portion 29 is made substantially equal to the terminal accommodating chamber 12. Hence, both the position of the front end portion of the female terminal 13 and the position of the wire clamping section 18, which is the rear end portion of the terminal, are positively regulated. Therefore, even when a bending force or tensile force acts on the connected wire 19, the female terminal 13 will never be shifted or vibrated. Thus, with the connector of the invention, the female terminal 13 is positively engaged with the mating male terminal.

    • The low-operating-force connector consists of a pair of female and male housings. The male housing has on the opposite sides driven pins, while the female housing has pin guide grooves for the driven pins. A cam member is rotatably mounted on the female housing, which consists of levers each including a cam groove and a lever handle connecting the levers. The housings are fitted with or separated from each other through rotation of the cam member. A pair of resilient locking pieces are provided on the outer periphery of the male housing, the locking pieces each including an engagement projection, while a corresponding pair of engagement portions are provided on the lever handle. Springs are so provided between the levers of the cam member and the female housing as to urge the cam member into an upright opened position. On completion of the coupling of the female and male housings, the cam member is locked by the engagement between the engagement projections and portions. When the engagement projections and portions are disengaged, the cam member is opened by the resilient action of the springs up to a starting position for separating the housings.
