    • A rotary shaft axial elongation measuring method and device enable accurate measuring of rotary shaft axial elongation regardless of the amount of the elongation. Grooves (10, 12), arranged opposite to each other in a turned V shape along the axial direction, are provided in a rotational surface of the rotary shaft (1) whose axial elongation is to be measured. A sensor (14) is arranged opposite the rotational surface of the rotary shaft (1). The sensor (14) generates pulses upon passing of the groves (10, 12) following rotation of the rotary shaft (1). As a circumferential interval between the grooves (10, 12) differs according to the axial directional position of the rotary shaft (1), if the positions of the grooves (10, 12) at the position of the sensor (14) change due to the axial elongation, the interval of the pulses generated by the sensor (14) changes. Thus, by the change in the pulse generation interval, the axial elongation is measured.

    • A device for detecting a change in internal pressure of a cylinder includes a cylinder head, an ignition plug threadingly fitted into a plug insertion hole of the cylinder head. An annular piezoelectric sensor is secured in the plug insertion hole by screwing the plug into the insertion hole. The sensor has such an outer periphery that, when the ignition plug is screwed into the plug hole, a part of the outer periphery of the sensor placed is brought into engagement with an inside periphery of the plug hole and is thereby prevented from being further rotated in the screwing direction. By using a gasket having the same relative shape to the periphery of the plug insertion hole as that of the above sensor, rotation of the sensor can be prevented even when the sensor does not have such a relative shape.

    • Disclosed is a two-color heat-sensitive recording material which comprises a base sheet and a recording layer of single-layer or multi-layer structure formed on the base sheet, the recording layer comrising:(a) a diazonium salt,(b) a basic leuco dye,(c) a 2-hydroxy-3-naphthoic acid derivative which acts as a coupler compound for causing the diazonium salt to develop color when heated and which also acts as a color developing material for causing the basic leuco dye to develop color when heated, and(d) a basic substance, wherein the diazonium salt and the basic leuco dye each form a color upon application of heat, thereby giving the first image of a mixed color, and, then, after irradiation of an active ray to decompose the diazonium salt, the basic leuco dye alone forms its own color upon application of heat, thereby giving the second image whose color is different from the mixed color of the first image.
