摘要： According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a mode setting section configured to set an operation mode in a manner that the image forming apparatus is operated in an erasing mode if an erasing operation is instructed, a supplying section configured to supply a medium on which the image formation is completed, and which is set in an designated or specified receiving section, a decoloring section configured to decolor the color of the formed image by carrying the medium to a heating section that includes at least heating and decoloring function, and a return section configured to return the operation mode to a predetermined mode except for the erasing mode from the erasing mode, when the last medium on which the image formation is completed and which is set in the receiving section is decolored.

摘要： An image forming apparatus comprises an exposure unit forming an electrostatic latent image on a photoconductor based on image information, a developing unit developing the electrostatic latent image by toner made of formation material of a circuitry layer, and an electrostatic transferring unit transferring a toner image on the photoconductor onto a substrate. The toner image is transferred so as to cover at least a part of a conductor layer formed on the substrate. At this time, excessive charges caused in the conductor layer accompanying the start of the transfer of the toner image are removed. Alternatively, charges of which polarity is reverse to that of the toner are added to the conductor layer. These allow the circuitry layer to be formed to have a desired pattern favorably and securely on the conductor layer.

Each developing unit is made up of a developing roller and a squeeze roller located downstream of the developing roller with respect to the rotating direction of a photosensitive drum. The outer circumference of the squeeze roller is a resin layer whose surface roughness Rz is less than 3 .mu.m. The squeeze roller is formed of a conductive material, and serves to remove a residual carrier solution from the photosensitive drum. The squeeze roller can be applied with a predetermined bias voltage. Due to the application of the bias voltage, a transfer medium is prevented from becoming dark in the background portion thereof, despite the use of small-diameter toner particles.
