    • A wheel support bearing assembly, in which rust preventive treatment is conducted to a pilot portion of a hub axle thereof to thereby increase the productivity and the reliability, is provided. This wheel support bearing assembly includes an outer member having rolling surfaces, an inner member having rolling surfaces opposed to the rolling surfaces of the outer member, and rows of rolling elements interposed between those opposed rolling surfaces. One of the outer and inner members that serves as a rotating member includes a hub axle having a wheel mounting hub flange and a cylindrical pilot portion protruding on an outboard side from a root portion of the hub flange for guiding a brake rotor and a wheel, both fitted to the hub flange. A coating layer of ultraviolet curable coating material is formed on a peripheral surface of the pilot portion.

    • A vehicle wheel bearing apparatus has an outer member, an inner member with at least one inner ring, double row rolling elements, and a constant velocity universal joint torque transmittably inserted into a wheel hub and axially separably connected by a securing nut. A shoulder of an outer joint member of the constant velocity universal joint abuts against a larger end face of the inner ring. The larger end face of the inner ring is formed as a ground surface. An end face of the shoulder of the outer joint member abutted against the larger end face is formed as a ground surface or a lathe-turned surface. The surface roughness Ra of at least the larger end face of the inner ring is limited to a range within 0.1˜0.3.

    • A vehicle wheel bearing apparatus for a driven wheel has an outer member integrally formed with a body mounting flange on its outer circumference. The body mounting flange is adapted to be mounted on a knuckle forming part of a suspension apparatus of the vehicle. The outer member inner circumference includes double row outer raceway surfaces. An inner member includes a wheel hub and at least one inner ring. The wheel hub has a wheel mounting flange formed at one end portion. A cylindrical portion axially extends from the wheel mounting flange. The inner ring is press fit onto the cylindrical portion of the wheel hub. Seals are arranged in annular spaces formed between the outer member and the inner member. The knuckle is integrally formed with a disc-shaped bottom. The outer member is adapted to be connected to the knuckle, via bolts, with the body mounting flange abutted against the knuckle. The inner side end of the inner member is covered by the knuckle.
