摘要： This invention relates to a novel cartridge-needle unit having a retractable needle for use with disposable or reusable holders to form safety syringes. The cartridge-needle unit comprises a cartridge comprising a hollow body, a septum at the distal end of the body, means for retaining the septum, and a plunger, axially and reciprocally slidable through the interior of the body; a needle capable of being withdrawn within the cartridge; a hub comprising a sleeve adapted to be snapped on the distal end of the cartridge; means for retaining the needle within the hub during an injection; and means for releasing the needle from the hub after the injection comprising an element capable of passing through the septum. The retractable cartridge-needle unit exhibits improved reliability, reduces the tendency for body fluids and/or medication to remain in an unprotected area upon retraction of the needle and virtually eliminates the possibility that the needle can be released into the patient.

A towing device is positioned to receive both the leading and trailing ends of the belt to form an endless belt. The towing device is moved through a path which moves the fusing belt through an endless path, which path includes a fusing nip with the pressure roller. The belt is backed by a heated roller at the fusing nip which defines a portion of the endless path and cooperates with the pressure roller to provide pressure in the nip.

摘要： Multicolor toner images are formed on a receiving sheet by superimposing single toner color images formed electrostatically on an image member, in registration on the receiving sheet. The receiving sheet is carried by a transfer roller repeatedly through engagement with the image member. The transfer roller is held slightly out of engagement with the image member when no receiving sheet is between the roller and image member. When a receiving sheet is between the roller and image member the roller is driven through the receiving sheet by the image member. To improve registration, the transfer roller is reindexed between transfer of each image by a stepper motor which rotates the transfer roller when no sheet is present between the transfer roller and the image member.
