The instructions include a module configured to limit configuration options for a welding system based on user selection of a power source for the welding system, a module configured to calculate a weld cable size for the welding system based on the user selection of the power source and user selection of an input voltage, a module configured to assign weld cable characteristics based on the weld cable size and a user selected cable length, and a module configured to assemble a welding system order based at least on the user selection of the power source and the weld cable characteristics.
