    • An image forming apparatus comprising an image data inputting device for inputting image forming data to the image forming apparatus, a control unit for adjusting operational conditions such as an amount of light of a light source, an insertion amount of color filters into a light path and so on in the image forming appartus for performing the copying processes on the basis of the image forming data and a mode switching unit for selecting one of a first mode for roughtly inputting the image forming data and a second mode for minutely inputting the image forming data. For an adjustment of a color balance, the image forming data inputting device comprises a first input unit for inputting a first data representing a color selected from a first color gradation and a second input unit for inputting a second data representing a color selected from a second color gradation, the first and second color gradations being defined between red and green and between yellow and blue, respectively, and the control unit adjusts the color balance of the image to be copied on the basis of the first and second data to obtain the copied image having a desired color balance.

    • In response to light reflected by a manuscript, a latent photo-image corresponding to the manuscript is formed on a photosensitive member comprising photocurable microcapsules containing therein dye precursor reactable to a color developing agent to develop a visible image. The photosensitive member is conveyed from a supply source, via a light exposure platform, to a developing section in an imaging device, while effectively protected from ambient light. When a transfer member is used to pass through the developing section, together with the photosensitive member, a separator lug is provided for separating the transfer member from the photosensitive member immediately after passing through the developing section. The exposure platform has a surface of an excellent light-absorptive material to prevent the recording sheet from being exposed again to light reflected from the platform surface.

    • In a color picture image recording apparatus using a photosensitive and pressure-sensitive recording sheet having on its surface pressure rupturable microcapsules each containing a photosensitive material and a chromogenic material selected from cyan, magenta and yellow, and a mechanical strength of the microcapsule varies when exposed, a color tone of a reproduced picture image can easily be adjusted by the provision of a filter unit. Each of the filters is movably disposed on a light path so as to change its filtering characteristic, whereby when the photosensitive and pressure-sensitive recording sheet is pressure-developed, the color tone of the reproduced color image can be adjusted.

    • An image recording apparatus is provided which automatically controls the temperature and humidity in the region of a photosensitive recording medium. The recording medium carries the indication of its sensitivity characteristic. A detector disposed in the image recording apparatus reads the sensitivity characteristics which may take the form of the bar code or magnetic tape. The detector then sends an output signal, to a controller. At least one of a thermal sensor and a humidity sensor are provided in the passage of the photosensitive recording medium. These elements respectively sense the temperature and humidity and output their detection signals to the controller. The controller then controls a heater and a humidifier to set the optimal temperature and optimal humidity for the passage.
