    • Systems and methods of exchanging voice chat information are provided. Voice chat information is received and the received voice chat information is placed into one or more packets. A control channel is selected and the one or more packets are transmitted over the selected control channel. The voice chat information can be transmitted in short messaging service (SMS) packets over the control channel. Moreover, voice chat information is exchanged between first and second communication stations by way of a SMS gateway, and media and signaling information are exchanged between the first and second communication stations independent on the SMS gateway.

    • Embodiments described herein are directed to controlling an application on a computing device with a mobile device. The mobile device captures an image of the application (i.e., by taking a photograph of the computing device's screen). A request is made to the computing device for bitmap information and the available options of the application. Once received by the mobile device, the options are associated with the bitmap representation and hard and/or soft keys are assigned on the mobile device. The user can then view the image of the application and select any of the keys, which, in turn, initiates requests for action that are submitted to the computing device. The computing device associates the actions with the corresponding options in the application and processes the actions accordingly.

    • Systems and methods for visual light communication in an underwater environment are provided. The system can include a master control station that determines an amount of impairment of a water medium and selects one of a wired and wireless communication transceiver for exchanging communications with communication device located in the water. The system can also include a first gateway that exchanges radio frequency signals with the master control station and provides visual light communication signals to devices located in the water. The system can also include a second gateway that can exchange both visual light communication signals and acoustic communication signals with other devices located in the water.

    • Methods, systems, and computer programs are presented for managing game state for one or more games accessed by devices of a user. One method includes an operation for providing a database on a server. The database is accessible by the devices of the user and is structured to identify one or more applications of the user, each application being associated with a plurality of slots, and each slot including metadata and a map table. Further, an Application Programming Interface (API) is provided to enable access to the database. The method further includes an operation for receiving a request using the API from an application executed at one of the devices of the user. The request identifies a first slot associated with the application and an action to perform regarding one or both of the metadata and the map table. The request from the application is verified, including comparing a first version associated with the first slot and a second version provided in the request. The action is enabled if the comparing indicates that the second version is not stale, else the request is denied.
