    • A liquid sealed-type vibration-insulating device includes an upper connection member to be mounted on a vibrating member; a lower connection member of a cup-shape to be mounted on a member on a vehicle body; a vibration-insulating rubber member provided between the upper and lower connection members; an annular plate fixedly secured to a lower portion of the vibration-insulating rubber member; a tubular metal member connecting the annular plate to an upper open end of the lower connection member; a heat-resistant rubber sheet member connected between an upper open end of the tubular metal member and the upper connection member; a main liquid chamber formed by the vibration-insulating rubber member and the lower connection member; an auxiliary liquid chamber formed by the vibration-insulating rubber member and the heat-resistant rubber sheet member; an orifice communicating the main liquid chamber with the auxiliary liquid chamber; and a stopper member which is connected to the upper connection member and is located within the main liquid chamber. The stopper member abuts against the annular plate and a bottom of the lower connection member which serves as a stopper mechanism operative in upward and downward directions. The stopper also abuts against a side wall of the lower connection member which serves as a stopper mechanism operative in a radial direction.

    • There is provided a liquid filled type vibration isolator in which damping action for both engine idling vibration and engine shake is carried out with the use of a single orifice. In the liquid filled type vibration isolator comprising a rubber-like insulator for absorbing and isolating vibration transmitted from an oscillating body, a main chamber having a chamber wall formed by a part of the insulator, and hermetically charged therein with liquid, an auxiliary chamber connected to the main chamber through the intermediary of an orifice and having a chamber wall a part of which is formed by a first diaphragm, a partition member partitioning between the main chamber and the auxiliary chamber, a working chamber defined and formed with respect to the main chamber by means of a second diaphragm, wherein the second diaphragm has a deforming stiffness which is higher than that of the first diaphragm. The liquid in the orifice effects resonant oscillation with a vibration input during engine idling operation.

    • In an artificial sea-mount constructed by piling up a plurality of block bodies on the seabed to vertically mix water mass in a peripheral sea area using a tidal current, ocean current, and internal wave in that sea area, a cone array formed from three or more cones is constructed linearly on the seabed, and the vertex interval between the cones is set to 0.75 times to 2 times the bottom radius of the cone. It is possible to generate an upwelling current even in the deep sea area by inverted triangle-shaped gaps formed between the cones and the conic surfaces of the cones, and thus obtain effective upwelling flux.

    • An optical disc controller for an optical disc drive playing optically a first information storage medium and a second information storage medium having a higher storage density than the first medium. The controller includes: a rotation control section for controlling a rotating mechanism rotating the media; an equalizer for removing first frequency range components from an RF playback signal, obtained by irradiating each media with light and detecting reflected light, and amplifying second frequency range components; and a phase locking section for generating a sync clock signal to do synchronization detection with a digital playback signal obtained by digitizing the output of the equalizer. The rotation control section rotates the media while controlling the rotating mechanism such that RF playback signals are obtained at first and second transfer rates. The maximum playback frequency of the RF playback signal obtained from the first medium at the first transfer rate is substantially equal to that of the RF playback signal obtained from the second medium at the second transfer rate.
