    • An imaging apparatus is adapted to shoot a subject at two or more different viewpoints to obtain a right viewpoint image and a left viewpoint image, or multi-viewpoint images, with parallax that are to be merged together into a 3D image. The apparatus includes a monitor for displaying the image to be taken upon shooting; an input device for inputting an indispensable output area which an user wants to be included in the 3D image outputted; and a control unit for causing the indispensable output area and an area out of mergence, which is unable to be included in the 3D image in accordance with the amount of parallax between the right viewpoint image and the left viewpoint image, or between the multi-viewpoint images, to be merged together into the 3D image, to be indicated in the image to be taken.

    • The method includes producing first identification data used as reference; performing subject recognition on acquired images of subjects to obtain recognition images, producing second identification data, and matching the first identification data with the second identification data; tallying the acquired images based on matching results for each subject and by shooting tendency factor; judging whether a number of the acquired images or a proportion of the number of the acquired images of the subjects in respect of each of the shooting tendency factors is within a given range from tally results of the acquired images; and providing shooting assist so that the number of the acquired images or the proportion of the number of the acquired images in respect of the shooting tendency factor judged to be outside the given range is placed within the given range.

    • In a fixing apparatus of an image forming apparatus, a heating member melts and fixes the unfixed toner. A heat controller controls temperatures of opposite end portion areas and a middle portion area of a surface of the heating member in a width direction perpendicular to a conveyance direction on an individual area basis. A pressure member is pressed against and contacted with the heating member to form a fixing part between the pressure member and the heating member. The heat controller controls the temperatures of the surface of the heating member so that the temperature of at least one of the opposite end portion areas of the surface of the heating member is higher than the temperature of the middle portion area of the surface of the heating member.

    • In a coolant system, the interior of a reservoir frame storing the coolant discharged from a machine tool is partitioned by a partition member into an outer peripheral coolant tub and a central coolant tub. The partition member is formed with a silt that extends in the depth direction to make the outer peripheral coolant tub communicate with the central coolant tub.
