    • The present invention provides a method of manufacturing a cathode ray tube, comprising a step of automatically setting peculiar information to a panel of a cathode ray tube, a step of performing a plurality of treatments on an inner surface of the panel of the cathode ray tube, thereby forming a phosphor film pattern on the inner surface, a step of automatically measuring a condition set in the phosphor film pattern forming step, a step of automatically storing a measurement value obtained in the measuring step such that the value is coupled with the peculiar information, a step of inspecting the panel obtained in the treatment step to determine whether or not the panel is defective, and a step of automatically storing a defectiveness code coupling with the peculiar information if the panel is determined to be defective.

    • The adjustment apparatus automatically adjusts the position and angle of a deflection yoke attached to the neck part of a cathode ray tube. A cathode ray tube having a deflection yoke as an adjustment target attached to its neck part is fixed to a predetermined adjustment position such that its tube axis extends in the horizontal direction. The adjustment apparatus holds a deflection yoke attached to the neck part of the cathode ray tube fixed to an adjustment position by means of a hold mechanism. A test image displayed through a fluorescent surface of the cathode ray tube is picked up by a plurality of cameras. The deflection yoke held by the hold mechanism is moved based on image data picked up by the cameras. The position and angle of the deflection yoke with respect to the neck part are automatically adjusted.

    • Disclosed is a method of manufacturing a cathode ray tube, in which an untreated panel for a cathode ray tube is supplied to a phosphor screen-forming line including a black film-forming step for forming a black film, a phosphor film-forming step for forming a phosphor film, and an aluminum film-forming step for forming an aluminum film to form a pattern of a phosphor screen consisting of the black film, the phosphor film and the aluminum film on the inner surface of the panel. The manufacturing method includes the steps of rejecting from the phosphor screen-forming line at least one defective panel selected from the group consisting of a panel defective in the black film, a panel defective in the phosphor film and a panel defective in the aluminum film, recycling the rejected defective panel to the phosphor screen-forming line, and forming again a pattern of a phosphor screen consisting of a black film, a phosphor film and an aluminum film on the inner surface of the panel recycled to the phosphor screen-forming line. Where the untreated panel for the cathode ray tube conflicts with the rejected defective panel at a starting point of the phosphor screen-forming line, the defective panel is supplied in preference to the untreated panel to the phosphor screen-forming line.

    • A laser beam is emitted form one side to a pair of square holes, while an electron gun assembly is being rotated on the tube axis of a color cathode-ray tube. The resulting diffraction pattern is sensed. When diffraction images included in the diffraction pattern are processed and a zero-order diffraction image and at least a first-order diffraction image are sensed in the pattern, the distance between the center of the zero-order diffraction image and the center of the first-order diffraction image is measured. The rotational position at which the distance is the smallest is sensed. The electron gun assembly is rotated to the position and held in place. Consequently, high-speed positioning is done with high rotation accuracy, which helps manufacture high-quality color cathode-ray tubes.
