摘要： A driving method of a plasma display panel including a discharge space defined by a plurality of scan electrodes, a plurality of sustain electrodes and a plurality of address electrodes for preventing or reducing a misfiring address discharge. In the driving method, a low scan pulse voltage, which is lower than a low scan pulse voltage applied to a previously addressed scan electrode, is applied to a scan electrode which is scanned later in an address period. A low scan pulse voltage applied in an address period of a subfield having a sub-reset period is established to be lower than a low scan pulse voltage applied in an address period of a subfield having a main reset period.

Various circuits for generating the desirable waveforms and simplifications that do not compromise the effectiveness of the circuits are also presented.

摘要： A method for driving a plasma display panel having a plurality of scan, sustain, and address electrodes is presented. Reset, address, and sustain discharge are performed by applying a driving waveform to a scan electrode while the sustain electrode is biased at a ground voltage. Address electrode is set to be at a positive voltage while the voltage of the scan electrode is gradually increased during the reset period. The foregoing driving voltage scheme obviates the need for a separate driving board for the sustain electrode. A single integrated board is sufficient for driving the scan and sustain electrodes. Various slopes for rising and falling portions of the scan waveform during the reset period are presented. A falling only reset period in second and subsequent subfields is used.

摘要： Reset, address, and sustain operations of a plasma display device are performed by applying a driving waveform to a scan electrode while biasing a sustain electrode at a ground voltage allowing a driving board for driving the sustain board to be eliminated. Since a low voltage is applied to the scan electrode while biasing the sustain electrode at the ground voltage during the reset period, a potential formed by a wall charge may be greater at the scan electrode than at the address electrode. In addition, a misfiring discharge may be prevented during the sustain period when a low voltage applied to the scan electrode during the sustain period is set to be greater than the scan voltage of a scan pulse applied to the scan electrode during the address period.
