    • In a boiling water reactor controlling each control rod hydraulically by driving a solenoid valve, the control system comprises an operation control means 41 having a duplicated data processing unit for generating sequence patterns based on the timing of the driving sequence based on the control information provided manually, a transmission control means 42 for creating a command word corresponding to each control rod being controlled based on said sequence pattern, and mutually communicating each command word between duplicated data processing units and computing the AND logic of said data within a predetermined time difference, and when the computed result coincide, transmitting the selected command word serially; a transmission unit 32 for receiving said command word and performing protocol conversion thereto, and transmitting the same to a plurality of transmission branch units positioned downstream as the control command; and a solenoid valve drive circuit 31 for driving the control rod drive unit corresponding to each rod branched from said transmission branch units.

    • A liquid crystal panel (10) includes an active matrix substrate on which a transistor (12), a pixel electrode (17), signal lines (15, 16) and backup wirings (8a, 8b) for recovering a defect in the signal line are formed; a color filter substrate on which a common electrode (counter electrode) is formed; and a liquid crystal material provided between the active matrix substrate and the color filter substrate. The backup wirings (8a, 8b) are (electrically) connected to the common electrode on the color filter substrate, through (i) a protection circuit (9) for discharging an undesired electric charge that occurs in the backup wirings (8a, 8b) and (ii) a sealing adhesive (6). With this configuration, it becomes possible to reduce problems (for instance, unexpected short-circuiting of the backup wiring and the signal line) caused by the undesired electric charge that occurs in the backup wirings.

    • If it becomes necessary to add, to a past device information list (past list), a record of device information of a target removed from a network, and if the number of records in the past list is already at its maximum so that it is impossible to store any more records in the past list, a microprocessor of a controller decides the priority of the removed target, based on device information of the removed target and on information of the kind of controller as stored in a configuration ROM in the controller. From records stored in the past list, the microprocessor searches for a record having a priority lower than the priority of the removed target, one by one in order from the first record therein. If the microprocessor finds a record having such a lower priority, the microprocessor deletes from the past list such record having been first found, and adds to the past list a record of the device information regarding the removed target. If the microprocessor fails to find such a record, the microprocessor searches for a record, which has the same priority as the priority of the removed target, from the records in the past list one by one in order from the first record therein. The microprocessor deletes from the past list such a record as having been first found, and adds to the past list a record of the device information regarding the removed target.
