    • A heat generator is formed to quickly raise the temperature of an object to be heated to a target level and then maintain the temperature of the object at the target level. The heat generator includes a high output heating element for heating the object to be heated, a temperature controller which is thermally coupled with the object and connected in series with the high output heating element for deenergizing the high output heating element when the temperature of the object exceeds the target level while energizing the high output heating element when the temperature of the object is reduced from the target level by a prescribed value, and a positive temperature coefficient thermistor which is thermally coupled with the object and connected in parallel with the high output heating element and the temperature controller, the thermistor having a Curie point set so as to produce an output capable of maintaining the object at the target temperature even when the high output heating element is deenergized.

    • A PTC thermistor device includes a heat generator containing a PTC thermistor unit, and heat radiators thermally coupled thereto. Each of heat radiators includes a plate, one main surface of which is adhered onto the heat generator, and a number of fins integrally formed on the other main surface of the plate. Since the plates of the heat radiators are thermally coupled to the heat generator, respectively, heat generated by the PTC thermistor unit is radiated from the fins through the plates. Free ends of respective sets of fins form opening portions, and guide plates are disposed above and below the respective opening portions so as to prevent air from escaping through the opening portions. If the guide plates are movable guide plates and are moved, an opening degree of each opening portion covered by each of the movable guide plates is changed such that temperature of warm air blown-out from an air outlet side can be adjusted or controlled.

    • A temperature sensor has lead lines made of an elastic material each attached to a corresponding one of electrodes on a temperature sensing element such as an NTC thermistor element. The lead lines may each have a non-straight part where they are bent or deformed into a semi-circular shape such that, when these lead lines are inserted into throughholes prepared through a circuit board, the non-straight parts are hooked at the throughholes and the portions of the lead lines above the circuit board will stand up obliquely. Instead of lead lines, a pair of elongated planar lead terminals each with a twisted top end part may be connected to the electrodes such that the top end parts of the pair of lead terminals face each other and can support the temperature sensing element more securely in between.
