    • An apparatus for adjusting the air-fuel ratio of a fuel mixture to be supplied to an engine. The apparatus has a pair of needle valve bodies and a pair of receptacles formed in a main body of a carburetor for receiving the needle valve bodies. Each needle valve body has a needle and a head. The needles are axially movable relative to a respective needle orifice. The needles may be axially advanced and retracted by rotating the needle valve bodies within the receptacles to respectively decrease and increase the flow of the fuel mixture around the needles and through the orifices. To prevent tampering with the needle valve body setting, the head of the needle valve body has an unconventional shape requiring a specialized tool to rotatably adjust the needle valve body. To further prevent tampering, the head is recessed with the main body of the carburetor. A retainer is disposed in the main body of the carburetor and receives the needle valve bodies to facilitate maintaining alignment of the needle valve bodies relative to the receptacles. The retainer assures that a constant fuel calibration setting is maintained through the orifices by resisting displacement of the needles due to such factors as external forces applied to the head of the needle valve body or engine vibration.

    • A carburetor includes a main body defining a bore, a main passage and a venturi defined within the bore, and a fuel nozzle carried by the main body and including a fuel nozzle outlet communicating with the venturi. The carburetor may also include a valve member translatable across an axis of the bore, such that in a closed state, the valve member closes the main passage but maintains the venturi at least partially open. The carburetor may also include a needle valve disposed at an end of the fuel nozzle substantially opposite of the fuel nozzle outlet to variably control flow of fuel into a fuel nozzle inlet, and a needle valve transmission may be coupled between a throttle shaft and the needle valve to convert rotation of the throttle shaft to translation of the needle valve.

    • In an electrophotographic printing apparatus, a fixing device heat-roller control system configured for specially controlling the heat roller fixing temperature during consecutive dual-sided copying of a large number of sheets. The electrophotographic printing apparatus in particular is adapted for stack-less conveyance from the fixing unit of sheets onto one side of which the copy toner image has been fixed in dual-sided copying, switching the sheets back to image reproduction unit. The fixing unit has a heat roller incorporating an internal heater and a press roller in pressing contact with the heat roller. The fixing device heat-roller control system includes a sensor associated with the heat roller for detecting its superficial temperature, a switching element for supplying/cutting off voltage to the internal heater, and a temperature control unit connected to the sensor and the switching element. Based on detection output from the sensor, the temperature control unit controls the switching element to maintain target heating temperatures in the heat roller, such that in consecutive dual-sided printing a number of sheets, for every multiple of a predetermined printing sheet count, the target heating temperature in the heat roller lowers in predetermined stages to a predetermined temperature, below an initial target heating temperature for toner-image fixing sheets in single-sided printing.
