    • An arrangement of motorcycle navigation system components enables both a meter display unit and a navigation display unit to be easily viewed by the vehicle operator. A motorcycle includes a meter display unit for displaying drive information such as a vehicle speed or a travel distance, and a navigation display unit for displaying the destination or the current vehicle position. Both display units are covered by a single transparent panel which permits the displays to be viewed therethrough. The navigation display unit is arranged behind the meter display unit, relative to the front of the vehicle, so as to protrude rearwardly with respect to the meter display unit, to give a driver of the motorcycle a clear view of both units, without significant overlap.

    • A diagnostic apparatus for a multicylinder internal combustion engine includes: an EGR portion capable of executing an individual-cylinder EGR in which EGR gas is distributed and supplied individually to cylinders of the engine; a knock detection portion that detects a knock index value that represents degree of knocking, separately for each of the cylinders; an abnormality detection portion that determines presence or absence of a variation abnormality of air/fuel ratios of the cylinders during execution of the individual-cylinder EGR, and that pinpoints an abnormal cylinder after determining that the variation abnormality is present, and that calculates an imbalance index value that represents the degree of variation regarding the abnormal cylinder; and an abnormality location pinpointing portion that pinpoints an abnormality location in the abnormal cylinder based on the imbalance index value and the knock index value of the abnormal cylinder.

    • Provided is a solid-state imaging element including pixel signal read lines, and a pixel signal reading unit for reading pixel signals from a pixel unit via the pixel signal read line. The pixel unit includes a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix form, each pixel including a photoelectric conversion element. In the pixel unit, a shared pixel in which an output node is shared among a plurality of pixels is formed, and a pixel signal of each pixel in the shared pixel is capable of being selectively output from the shared output node to a corresponding one of the pixel signal read lines. The pixel signal reading unit sets a bias voltage for a load element which is connected to the pixel signal read line and in which current dependent on a bias voltage flows in the load element, to a voltage causing a current value to be higher than current upon a reference bias voltage when there is no difference between added charge amounts, when addition of pixel signals of the respective pixels in the shared pixel is driven.

By transferring data to the same area in the order specified by the transfer specification unit, inconsistencies are avoided in the data in the recording device.
