    • The threads of the gate rotor of a screw rotor machine are generated by a rounded crest portion of the main rotor thread so that the flanks of the gate rotor threads will have a contour tangent to a plurality of circles which have progressively decreasing diameters taken from the radially innermost to the radially outermost of said circles, with the circles each having a center which lies on a curved radial line directed forwardly of the direction of rotation of the gate rotor when the machine is operated as a compressor. A crest portion of the gate rotor threads shaped in conformity with the radially outermost of said contour-defining plurality of circles has its center lying within and closely adjacent to the pitch circle of the gate rotor, with the gate rotor thread crest portion projecting beyond the gate rotor pitch circle a distance corresponding approximately to the radius of the radially outermost circle.

    • The closed gas turbine plant is fitted with at least one by-pass valve serving as an adjusting member for the working medium cycle, and uses measuring transformers for measuring the working medium cycle high and low pressures as well as the actual and nominal speeds of the turbine. A regulator has a first regulator part including an integrator, and the difference signal, between the speed nominal value and the speed actual value, is processed in this first regulator part. The regulator has a second regulator part in which signals representative of the working medium cycle high pressure and the working medium cycle low pressure are combined in an adding manner and the output signals of the two regulator parts are supplied to a third regulator part which controls the by-pass valve or valves.

    • An improved rotor compressor, particularly a screw-type compressor, for compressing a gas is disclosed. The compressor is provided with a housing having an annular drain space surrounding rotor shafts at a location between each shaft bearing and the working space for removing escaping lubricant and gas. The drain space is connected through a drain passage to a closed collecting chamber which is substantially under the intake pressure of the compressor. A return passage is provided for returning gas to at least one of the intake and the working space of the compressor and for returning lubricant to a lubrication circuit.

    • A multi-stage axial flow turbine and blast furnace compressor blower comprises a blower having a degree of reaction of 100% and which includes a rotatable shaft having a plurality of rings with blades defining moving blade rows arranged in spaced location with a plurality of guide blade rows. The construction includes a plurality of stages between an iniaial and a final stage which include a moving ring with two relative moving blades and a single guide blade row. The initial and final stages are arranged so that the stages include either an initial single moving blade row and a final stage consisting of a single guide blade row and a single moving blade row or the initial stage comprises a single guide blade row and a moving ring with two rows of blades and the final stage comprises a single guide blade row. The construction makes it possible to foreshorten the shaft by providing one row of the guide blade blades to take up the pressure of two rows of the moving blades at 100% reaction between said initial stage and said final stage.
