摘要： Time series data is modeled to understand typical behavior in the time series data. Data that is notably different from typical behavior, as identified by the model, is used to identify candidate patterns corresponding to events that might be interesting. The model may be revised by removing model biasing events so that it better reflects normal or typical behavior. Interesting patterns are then reidentified based on the revised model. The set of interesting patterns is iteratively pruned to result in a set of candidate features to be applied in a time series search algorithm.

摘要： Monitoring systems, devices, and methods for monitoring one or more objects within an environment are disclosed. An illustrative monitoring device in accordance with the present invention can include an image detector, an on-board image processor, and communication means for transmitting an imageless signal to a remote location. The image processor can be configured to run one or more routines that can be used to determine a number of parameters relating to each object detected. In some embodiments, the monitoring device can be configured to run an image differencing routine that can be used to initially detect the presence of motion. Once motion is detected, the monitoring device can be configured to initiate a higher rate mode wherein image frames are processed at a higher frame rate to permit the image processor to compute higher-level information about the moving object.

The existence of a querying situation is then automatically recognized. The querying situation implicates a mental of physical status of the actor or environment, and is based upon at least one factor apart from a direct request by the actor for assistance. In response to the recognition that a querying situation exists, a query is formulated and then automatically posed. In one embodiment, the query is posed to the actor. In another embodiment, the query is posed to a person having knowledge of the actor's activities. In yet another embodiment, the monitored information is used as the basis for recognizing the existence of a querying situation.
