An illumination time value is reduced with respect to the normal illumination time value determined under a recording condition set to record a minimum recording dot on the recording medium. The reduced illumination time is set as a unit illumination time at the time of the recording of the halftone and the secondary scanning speed is reduced in correspondence with the rate of reduction of the unit illumination time relative to the normal illumination time value. Further, in the case that the recording operation is the screen percentage to be effected by the light spot only for the unit illumination time, the exposure is arranged so as not to be effected by the light spot, or arranged to be effected for the normal illumination time value.

    • The present invention discloses a wet type electro-photographic recording apparatus having a simple structure and a high quality without uneven density, and capable of miniaturizing the apparatus. Around a rotary drum, an exposing section, a pre-bath treatment portion and a developing portion are disposed. The exposing section is disposed on an upstream region in a rotating direction of the rotary drum with respect to a lower extreme position of the rotary drum, and in an upper portion of the rotary drum. The pre-bath treatment portion is disposed at a position between the upper portion where the exposing section is disposed and the lower extreme position of the rotary drum. The pre-bath treatment portion has at least a supply section provided at a high level position for dropping pre-bath liquid and a pre-bath coating section provided in a lower level position for coating the dropped pre-bath liquid on the electro-photograph recording sheet, whereby the electro-photographic recording is pre-bathed by using the high insulating liquid having phase solubility with electrically insulating liquid used as a wet type developer. The developing section having a developing electrode is disposed substantially close to the rotary drum and in an upstream in the rotating direction of the rotary drum with respect to the lower extreme position of the rotary drum.

    • An electrostatic latent image developing method and an apparatus used in the latent image developing method are disclosed. In a first image developing method, a bias supply voltage provided to a developing dish is gradually increased during a developing process so as to prevent a decrease in an effective bias voltage applied to the developing dish caused by the attachment of the toner to the developing dish. Further, in a second developing method, the electrostatic latent image is formed on a photosensitive member by scanning a laser beam on a preliminarily charged photosensitive member in a lateral scanning direction, the thus formed latent image is developed by absorbing a toner in a liquid developer in a developing dish, wherein a cleaning pattern image having a large toner absorbability for absorbing the toner attached to a surface of the developing dish is provided on the photosensitive member by the laser beam before and/or after the latent image is formed on the photosensitive member.
