    • A piezoelectric actuator is disclosed including an annular piezoelectric element and a base. There is a gap along the radial direction of the annular piezoelectric element. One of the two ends, i.e., the fixed end of the said annular element, is connected to the base, while the other end is free. The base is made of piezoelectric materials. Furthermore, the annular element is divided into two or more annular parts along the direction of its circumference by the electrode patterns applied on its two opposite surface and/or its polarization directions. When driving voltages are applied, the actuator can generate roughly a rotary motion around the center of the annular piezoelectric element. The annular rotary actuator could be either a single plate or with multilayer structure. The present invention further relates to a dual stage head positioning actuator system of a hard disk drive with a plurality of disks and a plurality of vertically aligned head sliders mounted on distal ends of a plurality of suspensions via the annular piezoelectric actuators.

    • The present invention relates to a reverse type of HGA and an HGA assembling process for producing the reverse type of HGA. The reverse type of HGA comprises a slider 40, some traces 31 with related bound pads 32 on an FPC 30 used as signal lines, and some bump pads 41 on said slider 40 used as slider MR element terminals; wherein the bonding area of the slider 40 of the reverse type of HGA is provided on opposite side of the flexure to that of the conventional HGA. The HGA assembling process comprises steps: forming a reverse type of FPC 30; mounting a slider 40 to a FPC sheet 300 by epoxy, bound pads being in alignment with bump pads; finishing slider bounding by an SBB machine; cutting the FPC 30 with the slider 40 from the FPC sheet 300; and mounting the FPC 30 with slider 40 to suspension 10 by epoxy.

    • A disk drive unit includes a first cover having a first part of magnet component and a head stack assembly mounted on the first cover; and a second cover assembled with the first cover, which has a second part of magnet component, a spindle motor, at least one disk and a ramp adjacent to the disk; wherein a ramp tool opening is formed on the first cover corresponding to the ramp, through which a ramp tool can extend to hold the head stack assembly in a loading status. The invention also discloses a ramp tool used for assembling the disk drive which has its disk and HSA assembled in two different halves, which includes a tool body; and a holding means extending from the tool body to hold a lift tab of a head stack assembly in a loading status, wherein the lift tab is engaged with a ramp in the disk drive unit.
