摘要： A molding press has hydraulic transporting means for rapidly moving a mold-supporting movable platen toward and away from a fixed mold-supporting platen. A hollow main piston is connected by coupling means with a connecting beam projecting from the movable platen to open and close the mold with great force. Before the transporting means retract the movable platen, the coupling means is withdrawn from the path of the beam so that the beam can enter the hollow piston whereby the length of the machine is reduced.
