摘要： Major surface of a substrate having an optical waveguide and a modulation electrode is pasted to a base substrate through a thermosetting resin, and then the rear surface of the substrate is machined thus making thin the entirety. Subsequently, the rear surface of the substrate thus rendered thin is subjected to machining or laser machining to form a thin part, which is further subjected to machining or laser machining to form a first thin part at a part, including the optical waveguide, of the thin part and a second thin part thinner than the first thin part contiguously thereto. Thereafter, the rear surface of the substrate is pasted to the major surface of a supporting substrate through a thermosetting resin and the base substrate is stripped thus obtaining an optical modulator.

摘要： The present invention provides a resin composition which is excellent in balance of mechanical properties and processability, solvent resistance and chemical resistance. This composition comprises:(a) a polyphenylene ether resin,(b) a thermoplastic polyester resin, and(c) a compound represented by the formula:(HO)mR.sup.1 (COOR.sup.2)n wherein R.sup.1 represents a straight or branched chain saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group of 2-20 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl or aryl group of 1-20 carbon atoms and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may be identical or different and m and n each represents an integer of 1 or more or a derivative thereof.This composition may further contain a rubber-like polymer.

摘要： The present invention provides a resin composition which shows excellent balance in mechanical strengths and has superior solvent resistance and processability. This composition comprises:(a) a polyolefin resin in an amount of 20-95% by weight,(b) a polyphenylene ether resin in an amount of 80-5% by weight,(c) a partially hydrogenated alkenyl aromatic compound-isoprene block copolymer in an amount of 2-45 parts by weight based on totally 100 parts by weight of the components (a) and (b), and(d) an alkenyl aromatic compound-conjugated diene block copolymer in an amount of 3-45 parts by weight based on totally 100 parts by weight of the components (a) and (b).This composition can be easily molded into articles very excellent in balance of impact strength, heat resistance and solvent resistance and having uniform and smooth surface.

摘要： In a weaving loom of the type having program controlled weft selector means, a weft-yarn drawing-off and length-measuring apparatus comprising a detachable length-measuring roller. A pressing roller is in rolling contact with the length-measuring roller and movable relative to the length-measuring roller such as when the length-measuring roller is to be replaced with another roller having a different diameter. A roller guide mechanism including a parallelogrammic four-bar linkage contains the pressing roller to move in an arc. A weft guide mechanism is provided and is operative to move a weft yarn into and out of a position passable between the rollers. A control mechanism operated by the weft selector means drives the weft guide mechanism into and out of a condition providing the aforesaid position of the weft yarn.
