    • A carriage drive control device is provided which moves a carriage at a constant speed in a recording area for recording operation and which moves the carriage to a target stop position in a better way for non-recording operation. A controlled variable of actuator is calculated based on a speed error between a target speed and a moving speed of the carriage. The target speed is set based on a position error between the target stop position and a current position of the carriage, and is not more than a predetermined first speed. When the actuator starts moving the carriage for recording operation, a control rule used for calculation of the controlled is set to a first control rule, and when the actuator starts moving the carriage for non-recording operation, the control rule is set to a second control rule.

    • An image processing device includes a supply unit, a sheet tray, a conveying unit, an image processing unit, an access unit, and a control unit. A sheet having a storage unit is set in the supply unit. The image processing unit performs an image processing operation for reading an image from the sheet or for printing an image on the sheet. The access unit performs an access operation including at least one of a process for reading data from the storage unit and a process for writing data to the storage unit. The control unit determines whether the access operation for the sheet is successfully performed. The control unit further controls the access unit, based on the determination, to perform re-access operation to the sheet for which the access operation results in failure upon resetting the sheet discharged to the discharge tray onto the supply unit.

    • A motor control method/device is provided in which a speed change during a deceleration period is stabilized in performing a speed feedback control of a motor. In the motor control method/device, the speed feedback control is performed such that a speed of a body driven by the motor is consistent with a predetermined target speed.
