    • The present invention proposes a method for processing an information request in a communication network, wherein a requesting side contacts a first element of said communication network and sends a request for specific information of a subscriber, said method comprising the steps of receiving a request for subscriber specific information, processing the rest for said subscriber specific information, wherein in said processing a second network element is triggered, checking by said second network element, whether a permission for releasing said subscriber specific information to said requesting side is present, and, if a permission for releasing is present, forwarding said subscriber specific information to said requesting side, and if no permission for releasing is present, refusing the request for said subscriber specific information. The present invention also proposes a corresponding device and/or system. The present invention enables a consultation of the subscriber whether he/she permits a release of information concerning him/her, e.g. by using an intelligent network environment.

    • A packet switching control system and method are described, for controlling a packet switched connection between a subscriber terminal and an end terminal identified by a connection endpoint identification in a communication network. A subscriber-specific screening list for a plurality of connection endpoint identifications is provided, wherein an subscriber-specific screening control of the packet switched connection is performed on the basis of the screening list. The screening list may contain detection point settings for an IN interrogation so as to provide an interworking function between the IN and the packet network. Moreover, the screening list may include a charging information to thereby define different charging parameters for packet connections to different connection endpoints. This enables the subscriber to define price limits for predetermined connections.

    • In conventional cellular systems, the identifier of network elements (SGSN) allocating a temporary identity (TLLI) to a mobile station (MS) can be derived from the identities of the cells they serve. In the future, this assumption may no longer be valid. One paging area could be handled by several network elements, such as SGSN nodes, or one network element could serve many paging areas. When the mobile station changes its paging area, the new supporting network element may have trouble in determining the old supporting network element on the basis of the paging area identifier. It is also possible for two supporting network elements to allocate the same TLLI to two different mobile stations. Therefore the network element (SGSN, BSC, RNC) allocating a temporary identity (TLLI) to a mobile station (MS) should incorporate at least part of its own identifier (NEI) into the temporary identity (TLLI).
