    • A retaining ring is disclosed for joining first and second flow members, The retaining ring includes a ring body having an axial passage, and securing structures for connecting the ring body to mating structures on the first flow member. An annular end is formed onto the ring body at an end of the axial passage. The annular end includes an aperture for admitting the second flow member and retaining or portion of the second flow member in conjunction with the first flow member. One or more leaf springs are formed integrally on the annular end adjacent to the aperture, for applying an axially-directed biasing force sufficient to urge first and second flow members into contact and also allow rotational indexing of the second flow member without disconnecting or loosening the ring body.

    • A portable welder includes a welder housing. The housing has front and rear vertical end surfaces and left and right side surfaces. The housing further has a horizontal top surface extending forward from the rear surface. An inclined surface faces upward and forward and extends from a front end of the top surface to a top end of the front surface. A front post, equidistant from the side surfaces, extends upward from the inclined surface. A rear post, equidistant from the side surfaces, extends upward from the top surface. A handle, spaced above the top surface, extends from the front post to the rear post. The welder is configured for a user to carry the welder by lifting the handle such that the housing is suspended from the handle by the posts.

    • A connector for controlling the operation of a vehicle engine is disclosed, the connector including a male connector element having first and second contacts fixedly retained therein and a female connector element having first and second resilient terminals fixedly retained therein. The first and second terminals of the female element are each provided with an arcuate end portion disposed so that the arcuate end portions of the terminals normally contact one another. When the male element is inserted into the female element, the arcuate end portions of the terminals in the female element are separated from one another and make contact with the first and second contacts of the male element. This contact permits the vehicle engine to be controlled by the switch. On the other hand, if the connector elements are uncoupled, the arcuate end portions of the female connector element are in contact with one another so as to complete and close a circuit defined by wires coupled to the terminals of the female element. Completion of this circuit prevents operation of the vehicle's engine. Accordingly, the vehicle operator must properly connect the male and female elements in order to use the vehicle and, as such, controlled operation of vehicle's engine is facilitated.
