    • A vibration isolated shift lever comprises a control lever, a shift plate, a transmission plate, a transmission lever and resilient bushings located between the shift plate and transmission plate. The shift plate triangularly shaped and is provided with three shift plate apertures one being located at each of the apexes of the triangular shift plate. The transmission plate provided with a transmission lever receiver that is bolted to the transmission lever. The transmission plate is triangularly shaped and provided with three transmission plate apertures that are located at the apexes of the triangular transmission plate. The shift plate and the transmission plate are aligned so that the three shift plate apertures are lined up with the three transmission plate apertures. Three mounting bolts extend through the lined up shift plate apertures and transmission plate apertures. Each of the bolts is provided with a resilient rubber bushing. The resilient bushing is positioned between the shift plate and the transmission plate with the resilient bushings extending into and through the respective shift plate apertures. A rigid sleeve is located in the central tunnel of the bushing. The rigid sleeve is shorter than the central tunnel. The mounting bolts are provided with a washer that engages the rigid sleeve and the resilient bushing. A cap portion of the resilient bushing is positioned between the shift plate and the transmission plate. The resilient bushing is compressed by the application of a lock nut engaging the mounting bolts on the other side of the transmission plate. Compressing the bushing radially deforms the sleeve portion of the bushing outwardly between the washer and the shift plate.

    • A lift crane includes a carbody; a rotating bed comprising a counterweight support frame; a boom; a counterweight unit supported on the counterweight support frame in a moveable relationship with respect to the counterweight support frame; and a counterweight unit movement device connected between the rotating bed and the counterweight unit to move the counterweight unit toward and away from the boom. The crane is configured such that during crane operation, the moment generated by the counterweight unit acts on the rotating bed predominantly through the counterweight support frame. Alternatively, the crane can include a mast. In some embodiments the same basic crane is configured to be set-up with two different counterweight options, i) a counterweight unit directly supported on the counterweight support frame and ii) a counterweight support beam moveably connected to the remainder of the rotating bed and a counterweight unit supported on the counterweight support beam.

The boom raising assist structure preferably includes at least one ground engaging member in contact with the ground; and a boom elevating member extending between the assist structure ground engaging member and the boom. The boom elevating member supports at least a part of the weight of the boom.

The boom elevating member supports at least a part of the weight of the boom.A method of setting up a lift crane includes a) attaching the first end of the boom to the rotating bed and constructing the boom, with the boom extending out from the rotating bed parallel to the ground and being supported at multiple points by the ground; b) positioning the boom raising assist structure between the ground and the boom, c) using the boom raising assist structure and the boom hoist mechanism together to pivot the boom about its connection to the rotating bed, thus raising the boom from a first position where the boom is supported by the ground to a second position where the boom is raised to a first angle compared to the surface of the ground providing an adequate boom reserve; and d) using the boom hoist mechanism to raise the boom to a second angle steeper than the first angle, where the boom raising assist structure is no longer in contact with the ground.
