摘要： In a tubular skylight, a corrugated Aluminum sheet is formed with a hole that is pressed into a curb which is fastened over the turret of a roof-mounted skylight flashing. Roof tiles above the dome of the skylight are placed onto the sheet, while below the dome the sheet is placed over roof tiles and manually conformed thereto, owing to the corrugations. Any water that leaks past tiles above the dome will be directed by the sheet around the curb and down onto the tops of tiles that are below the dome, thereby providing a water seal for the skylight.

摘要： A valve for selectively blocking the light passageway of a skylight includes a cylindrical shroud and first and second semicircular butterfly valve elements that pivot on respective axles within the shroud to selectively block the skylight. The axles can ride on a common motor-driven cam between a horizontal orientation to block the skylight and a vertical orientation to allow light to pass. The motor can be powered by a universal power supply that can operate at anywhere from below 100 volts to above 270 volts.

摘要： Disclosed are glucoside alkyl urethanes composed of units of the formula: A(O—CO—NH—R)s wherein A represents a glucosyl unit of a starch hydrolysate moldecule, the starch hydrolysate having a Dextrose Equivalent (D.E.) ranging from 1 to 47, (O—CO—NH—R) represents an N-alkyl aminocarbonyloxy group replacing a hydroxyl group of the glucosyl unit A, and wherein R represents a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated alkyl group containing from 3 to 22 carbon atoms, and s represents the number of alkyl carbamate groups per glucosyl unit which number is expressed as degree of substitution (DS) with said DS value ranging from about 0.01 to about 2.0 which are useful as surface-active agents. Also disclosed are a method for their manufacture and to compositions containing one or more glucoside alkyl urethanes. The glucoside alkyl urethanes have good to excellent tensio-active properties in combination with good biodegrability and they are suitable as surfactants for use in household and industrial applications, e.g., as detergents, emulsifiers, emulsion stabilisers, foaming agents, foam stabilisers, dispersants and wetting agents.
