    • Apparatus for dispensing cold drinks comprising a cold water supply line in which cold water is flowing continuously, a valve comprising a valve body having passaging, an inlet for delivery of cold water from a first point along said supply line to the passaging, a main outlet for dispensing of cold water from the passaging, a valve member for the main outlet, and an auxiliary outlet for return of cold water from the passaging to a second point along the supply line downstream from the first point, and a Venturi in the supply line for causing a pressure differential in the cold water between the first and second points along the supply line for continuous flow of the cold water from the supply line through the passaging and the auxiliary outlet back to the supply line when the valve member is closed, thereby to assure having cold water on tap in the passaging for being dispensed when the valve member is opened. In a second embodiment the valve body has a syrup passage for flow of syrup to the main outlet and a syrup valve, the syrup passage being in heat-exchange relation with the continuously flowing cold water.

    • A machine dispenses chilled alcoholic beverage and has a housing forming an enclosure and outer surface. A refrigeration unit is contained within the housing and includes a compressor, condenser and evaporator coil. A beverage faucet is mounted on the outer surface of the housing and at least one inclined beverage container is mounted on the housing. A manifold is mounted in the housing for receiving beverage from the inclined beverage container. A beverage delivery tube is contained within the housing and operatively connects to the beverage faucet and manifold for delivering beverage from the manifold to the beverage faucet. A portion of the beverage delivery tube extends coaxially within the evaporator coil to form a chilled beverage line so that the beverage flowing through the beverage delivery tube is chilled. The housing also includes bottle mounts thereon which extend from the manifold upward through the housing and which are configured to receive a stopper shaft of a bottle stopper inserted within a beverage container.

    • A method of freezing and dispensing a beer product comprises providing beer in a sealed, refrigerated storage container under pressure; feeding beer from the storage container to a sealed freezing chamber through a sealed delivery system; freezing the beer in the chamber; and dispensing frozen beer from the chamber. The frozen beer product preferably has a slush consistency and a density of about 50% to about 90% of the density of unfrozen beer, a temperature of between about 23° and 27° F. and a volume reduction in a filled 14 fluid ounce plastic cup sitting in 70° F. room for 30 minutes or less than 10%. A refrigerated cabinet for supplying beer comprises an insulated beer storage compartment; a refrigeration system comprising a compressor, a condenser, a thermal expansion device and an evaporator; a pressurized carbon dioxide tank in a separate, non-refrigerated compartment; and a fan for circulating air within the insulated beer storage compartment. A beer freezing and dispensing apparatus comprises a freezing chamber; a refrigeration system for cooling the beer in the freezing chamber to a frozen state; a dispensing system for dispensing frozen beer from the freezing chamber when it reaches a slush consistency, and a beer delivery system for delivering beer to the freezing chamber, the beer delivery system comprising; a valve for controlling the introduction of beer into the delivery system; a check valve to prevent beer from flowing backwards out of the delivery system; an accumulator for holding beer that expands when beer freezes in the chamber; and a pressure sensor for sensing the pressure of the beer between the accumulator and the freezing chamber. The method and apparatus may also be used to freeze and dispense other single-strength beverages.
