    • An automated payment system for use in a service station. The system includes at least one fuel dispenser for dispensing fuel and having a user interface for directing how payment for the fuel is to be processed. The system also includes a payment terminal positioned in proximity to the fuel dispenser for receiving the payments. The terminal has rigid outer walls forming an enclosed interior section for housing the payments. In one embodiment, the terminal has rigid outer walls forming a substantially H-shape with two indents positioned on the exterior of the payment terminal. A pair of support posts are firmly mounted within the indents for securing the payment terminal in position. Mounting mechanisms may attach the payment terminal to the support post and be positioned such that they are contained within the terminal and post to restrict access.

    • The present invention relates to a thermal management system for a thin depth LCD display enclosure. The LCD display enclosure may be used in environmentally sensitive conditions and may be environmentally-sealed to protect the components of the LCD display from environmental conditions. The LCD display components may include a lens and a LCD module, and other heating producing components, such as backlights and electronic circuitry. The heat producing components and any external heat placed on the enclosure causes the ambient air temperature inside the enclosure to rise thereby possibly causing the LCD display to not operate properly. The ambient air temperature inside the enclosure is lowered by transferring heat in the ambient air through the enclosure to a heat sink that is attached on the outside rear portion of the enclosure, and to the atmosphere using forced convection, natural convention, or both.

    • The present invention relates to a LCD display that has a thin depth, rigid enclosure and includes a thin speaker so that the depth of the enclosure does not have to be increased to accommodate the speaker. The speaker is used to generate audio output that may correlate to the graphical information displayed on the LCD display. The enclosure has an opening for inclusion of a semi-rigid lens for viewing of an internal LCD module that is also used as a planar surface for the thin speaker. In order to provide a thin device in the enclosure that is driven by a driver to move air to generate sound, the driver is attached to the semi-rigid lens.

    • Methods and systems for detecting tampering of a remote display. According to one method, a first data integrity result is generated by performing a first data integrity operation on display data to be displayed on the remote display at a secure module. The display data is transmitted from the secure module to the remote display security module. The remote display security module receives the display data. A second data integrity result is generated by performing the first data integrity operation on the display data received at the remote display security module. A determination is made as to whether the remote display has been tampered with at the secure module if the first data integrity result does not match the second data integrity result.

    • A single meter blending fuel dispensing system utilizing a pair of proportional flow control valves each having a pressure transducer positioned aft of the valve flow control mechanism. A computer controller is used to program a desired fuel mixture by varying the pressure for each flow control valve. A pressure decrease in one valve produces a corresponding pressure increase in the other valve. A third pressure transducer can be situated downstream of the valves and is set such that the pressure it receives cannot exceed that of the two valve pressures. Flow meters can be substituted for the pressure sensors. A calibration method for calibrating the positive displacement meter is also disclosed. At installation the positive displacement meter is at its most accurate and is synchronized with the less accurate pressure sensors or flow meters. As time passes and the positive displacement meter wears it can be re-calibrated using the baseline data and the pressure sensors or flow meters which are not subject to mechanical wear.

    • A vehicle door latch system configured to temporarily prevent door latch mechanisms from unlatching during a predetermined event is provided. The vehicle door latch system includes a forkbolt pivotally mounted to a housing portion of the vehicle door latch. The forkbolt is capable of moving between a latching position and an unlatching position. The door latch system also includes a block out mechanism configured for movement between a blocking position and an unblocking position. The block out mechanism is configured to prevent the forkbolt from moving from the latching position to the unlatching position when the block out mechanism is in the blocking position. A biasing member biases the block out mechanism into the unblocking position. The door latch system also includes an activation mechanism for moving the block out mechanism to the blocking position when the activation mechanism is activated for a predetermined time period to overcome the biasing member and after the predetermined time period, the block out mechanism moves to the unblocking position by the biasing member.
