    • A technoscope for checking for damage, especially a crack, in a surface of a cavity in a technical component, is arranged not only to establish the area of damage but also to measure the depth of a damaged area. To this end, the technoscope has a measuring attachment comprising a measuring probe with two electrodes for straddling the damaged area, and being supported in the cavity by a support element. The depth of the damaged area is measured by means of a depth measuring instrument sensitive to the disturbance of current flow between the electrodes, and the potential difference resulting therefrom.

    • A technoscope for internal inspection of plant such as special aircraft power units equipped with non-circular, preferably cornered (e.g. square) wall ports comprises a rigid first metal guide shaft of non-circular cross-section insertible into one of the wall ports and having a lateral distal outlet guide, and a guiding element which passes through said first guide shaft and has a flexible distal portion, an intermediate portion whose cross-section matches that of the first guide shaft and a proximal control system for controlled deflection of said flexible distal end. The guiding element is used to guide a flexible endoscope shaft to the desired site within the plant to be inspected.

    • An endoscope comprises a hollow shank, optic viewing means positioned in the hollow shank for observing a body cavity, and a separate adjustable instrument channel which is axially, slidably arranged in an internal guiding region of the hollow shank. The instrument channel has a flexible curvature section and a laterally running end section with an end portion that is pivotably and articulably mounted in a radial passage in the distal circumferential wall region of the hollow shank. Sliding the instrument channel axially in the hollow shank results in flexing of the curvature section and pivoting of the end portion, such that an auxiliary instrument provided in the instrument channel is laterally deflected when guided through the hollow shank.
