    • This invention relates to an amusement ride installation, comprising at least one passenger carrier (2), an amusement ride guide structure (3) and a launch system (1) adapted to accelerate the at least one passenger carrier from a starting position. The launch system comprises a launch guide structure having a curvature (c), a launch arm (4) rotatable about a rotation axis (6), engagement means (7) for providing a temporary connection between the launch arm and the at least one passenger carrier during the launch, and launch drive means providing the launch arm with an angular velocity. In the launch system according to the invention the radial distance between the engagement means and the launch arm support (5) is variable such that portions of the launch guide structure have a deviating radius, or the distance in axial direction between the engagement means and the launch arm support is variable such that portions of the launch guide structure have curvatures perpendicular to the surface of rotation, such as slopes or banking.

    • A rollercoaster amusement device adapted to provide for the passengers a ride wherein the passengers experience at least a portion of the ride in a racing position, the amusement device wherein an endless guide structure at least including multiple curves, one or more carriages displaceable along the guide structure, a passenger assembly associated with a carriage, said passenger assembly being adapted to accommodate at least one passenger such that said passenger experiences at least a portion of the ride in a racing position, a station along said guide structure allowing the passenger to board the passenger assembly. The passenger assembly includes a frame that is connected to the carriage, the frame at least being provided with: a chest support, a back restraining member, and a leg restraining device for each leg, such that in the racing position: the passenger's head is directed forward, the passenger's trunk is resting with its chest side on the chest support, the back restraining member restrains motion of the passenger away from the chest support, the leg restraining devices each hold the respective leg such that the upper leg is angled downward with respect to the trunk and the leg is bend at the knee so that the lower leg is angled rearward with respect to the upper leg. A leg restraining device for restraining a leg includes an upper leg retention member adapted to engage at least the front side of the upper leg, a lower leg retention member adapted to engage at least the front side of the lower leg, so that the upper and lower leg retention members retain the leg while bend at the knee.

    • A drilling vessel with a drilling deck includes a drilling vessel floor structure defining the drilling deck and a tubular support assembly that is recessed in the drilling floor structure. The assembly includes a support frame and at least two support tables, wherein the tables have a top surface that forms part of the drilling deck. The tables are each guided by the support frame to allow displacement along a line between an active position for supporting a tubular and a retracted position for passing an object. The tables and the adapters segments supported thereby are coupled, for example via a clamp or a shape-coupling, such that when the tables move from their active position into their retracted position each segment moves with the respective table it is coupled with and the bushing is opened up for passing through an object through the opening between the at least two support tables and the adapter segments they support.

    • A marine pipeline installation system is provided for laying a pipeline and/or installing a subsea riser. The system includes a pipeline guide supported at an elevated position by the tower for guiding the pipeline from a first trajectory extending between the reel and the pipeline guide to the firing line along said tower. The pipeline guide is supported by the tower via an associated guide support frame, the support frame being adapted to allow for displacement of the pipeline guide between a pipelaying position, wherein one end of the pipeline guide is positioned in the firing line, and a retracted, non-operable position. The guide support frame allows movement of the pipeline guide in a combined upward direction and direction towards the reel, such that in the retracted position of the guide support frame the length of the first trajectory is essentially the same as in the pipelaying position.
