    • A method of transmitting channel management information by an access point (AP) in a wireless local area network and configured to communicate via a primary subchannel and a secondary subchannel is provided. The method includes: transmitting a frame including a quiet channel element, the quiet channel element including a quiet mode field indicating whether a communication to the AP is allowed via part or all of the primary subchannel during a quiet interval, the quiet interval being an interval during which no transmission occurs in the secondary channel; and performing communications using the part or all of the primary subchannel, if the quiet mode field is set to a value that indicates the communication to the AP is allowed to communicate via the part or all of the primary subchannel during the quiet interval.

    • A method and an apparatus transmitting and receiving a White Space Map information between two stations in a wireless local area network system are disclosed. For transmitting a white space map information from a first station to a second station in a regulatory domain where a licensed device and an unlicensed device are permitted to operate in a wireless local area network (WLAN), the method comprises: obtaining, at the first station, a list of available channels with a first channel granularity and maximum allowed transmission powers of the available channels from a regulatory database; and transmitting, from the first station, one of a beacon frame, a probe response frame and a white space map announcement frame comprising a white space map (WSM) element to the second station such that the second station operates as the unlicensed device using one or more channels having a second channel granularity and located only within the available channels identified by the WSM element, wherein the WSM element comprises a channel number field and a maximum power level field, wherein the channel number field indicates the list of available channels with the first channel granularity and the maximum power level field indicates maximum allowed transmission powers of the available channels.

    • Methods and apparatuses for acquiring/providing available channel information using Generic Advertisement Service (GAS) protocol in a wireless local area network (WLAN) are disclosed. AP (Access Point) station has a capability to acquire information for available channels from a database using a specific protocol related to an operation within the White Space (e.g. Access Network Query Protocol (ANQP)). And, non-AP station can retrieve the information for available channels by transmitting a Generic Advertisement Service (GAS) initial request frame to the AP station, wherein the GAS initial request frame comprises an Advertisement Protocol Element whose element ID indicates the specific protocol, and receiving a GAS initial response frame comprising a White Space Map (WSM) the specific protocol. The WSM comprises one or more white space channel units, and each of the white space channel units comprises a channel number field indicating one of the available channels and a power constraint field indicating a maximum allowable power on the indicated channel.

    • A method for reporting channel state information (CSI), performed by a beamformee, in a wireless local area network system using multi-channels is provided. The method includes receiving, from a beamformer, an NDP announcement (NDPA) frame announcing that a null data packet (NDP) frame follows the NDPA frame, receiving the NDP frame from the beamformer, estimating a channel from a training symbol of the NDP frame and transmitting to the beamformer a CSI report frame containing a result obtained by estimating the channel, wherein the channel is a multi-channel acquired by aggregating first and second channels which are non-contiguous to each other, and wherein the CSI report frame includes an average signal to noise ratio (SNR) for each space-time stream of the first channel and a steering matrix for each subcarrier of the first channel and an average SNR for each space-time stream of the second channel and a steering matrix for each subcarrier of the second channel.
