摘要： A graphical user interface that presents document destinations in terms of recipient objects readily familiar to the user is provided by the present invention. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method for specifying delivery information for electronic documents can include the step of displaying a plurality of potential recipients to a user. Responsive to input from the user, the method can select at least one potential recipient from the plurality of potential recipients to form a plurality of selected recipients. The method then performs a scanning operation of a document to form an electronic copy of the document. The electronic copy of the document can be transmitted to the plurality of selected recipients. A step of incorporating the electronic copy of the document into a database belonging to each of the plurality of selected recipients is also included in the method.

摘要： A document image storage system includes a control mechanism that automatically archives a document image in response to a document being produced by a peripheral device. The document image storage system also includes a memory machine and a remote storage facility coupled to the memory machine. The first memory machine archives document images. The remote storage facility archives document images received from the first memory machine. According to one embodiment, the memory machine and the remote storage facility are coupled via a communications channel. The communications channel transmits document images between the memory machine and the remote storage facility. According to a further embodiment, document image storage system includes a second memory machine coupled to the remote storage facility, the second memory machine also archives document images.

A part of the thin film of the electrostatic capacitance sensor 30 is formed with overlapping with at least a part of the pressing face of the operation key, and upon sensing of the movement of the operating position, the direction input control part 31 determines whether or not to generate the direction input signal on the basis of an operating position upon start of the movement. Upon operation of the operation key that is arranged with overlapping with an electrostatic pad, a direction input for moving a screen display can be suppressed from being erroneously provided.
